Ferrer is a picture of consistency... Kai...not so much, but he can be awesome. Ferrer FTW.

Yup.

He beat Dimitrov because Dimitrov had several lapses. Ferrer tries and tries and tries and never gives up and he doesn't make the unforced errors that a Dimitrov would make. Ferrer is better tactically - he has to be going up against all of the big guys.

Kei needs to get to Ferrer's level of stockiness and solidity. He looks skinny now, I think it would help him hit a heavier ball and maybe on the serve as well (Ferrer has a phenomenal serve at 5'8).

Just turned on the stream, what happened to Ferru's bandana? He's sporting a reverse cap now?!
He looks cool actually. Nice to see some change from the same monotonous gear.

Btw, Nishi's BH looks so much like Djoko's. Very impressive!

And he takes it!!! Sloppy match but very entertaining! Credit to Nishi for staying tough after choking a 4-1 lead in the breaker. Does this put Fed back into the top 4?

Nishikori

UE 52

Ferrer

UE 40

lol only 5 nets points for Ferrer. Pretty bad stats but the hitting was of a good quality, court just too slow.

Great performance form Kei. I'm so happy for him. Finallly , we are seeing some new players who are challenging the top players. Great for the sport.

I disagree, the hitting was horrible lol. Both guys made routine errors off of every other ball, and couldn't return a serve to save their lives (weird because these guys are both easily in the best 5 or 10 returners on tour). Entertaining match because of the drama, though.

Yes, not that it was much of a question. Barring a Ferrer championship, a QF for Fed would've put him ahead of Ferrer.

Excellent match. I have to hand it to Nishikori, even when pressured and having match points against him, he went for it. Now this allowed for more unforced errors, but he wasnt pushing out there. Great win.

It was good at times IMO. There were ALOT of routine errors but there were also many decent points which seemed to just draw on because of the courts.

That's what happens on slow courts. Many of the points are at least half decent, but it's nearly impossible to hit winners with regularity so many of the "good" points end as UE's.

Yep, pretty terrible really. Ugly tennis.
