Gasquet needs to do some cardio. Seriously, he gets burned out halfway through the match so often.

Did you watch the final vs. Davydenko in Doha? He was playing defensive tennis most of the match and just running for everything. I thought he would be out of it physically, but he actually used his fitness to win that match.

Oh dear oh dear oh dear.

Murray worked so hard to take control of the set and then gifts a DF to hand the break back to Gasqangry

TWers have criticized Gasquet's forehand in the past. Is it that bad. It looks okay. Not incredible, but okay. there's that little hitch, and doesn't seem like he can hit it flat that much

Gasquet lucky to find himself still in this set after Murray's choke, but he is playing impeccable; brilliant hitting, again very little UEs, and some wonderful footwork.

When he is on, he can fire from all cylinder.
if not, it's usually his forehand that spray UEs all over the place.

Nah, I didn't see it. I might have been talking complete crap to be honest. I remember Gasquet being completely wrecked halfway through his 2010 RG final and assumed his fitness is still that poor.

In that game where he got broken, Gasquet looked really tired though. He couldn't even bend his knees properly to hit his backhand. He probably needed a little breather. He is playing fine tennis now.

That's not fuming. That's a French person adamant to make a point about anything!

Ive spoken french fluently since age 7 and could barely decipher what gasquet was saying. dude's pretty mad. (for not much reason)

the anger might've helped since he broke back and is now up 6-5

Does anyone remember Murray saying in 2011 after his match against Djokovic at Rome, in his post-match interview, that he usually never has trouble serving out sets/matches? Look at him these days failing to serve out the match vs Cilic in his last match and now failing to serve out the set here. And how about all those matches last year when he lost having held MPs?

Well Gasquet's fitness has always been suspect. But supposedly he stayed in Florida with Grosjean during the off season, seems to have payed off from what I can tell.

I think we will hear another negative opinion about the time policy after this match.

I think that's because Gasquet was speaking English? At least I heard him say "YOU HEAR ME?"

Fantastic tennis from Gasquet. Very little UEs, precise, efficient hitting, and some absolutely remarkable winners. Murray should have taken it at 5-4, but was abhorred.

Wow I always thought Gasquet was overrated (well I did watch his win over Federer back in 2005 but I have little memory of it now), but today he proved me wrong (so far), really good shots and consistent from the BH and great shot variety!

Murray fails to close out a set yet again and ends up losing it. That's what still separates him from the other top 3 guys imo. Some great tennis overall though.

That was one of the best tiebreaks I've seen in a while, so many clean winners. Especially Gasquet coming up with some amazing half volleys. Murray didn't even do much wrong.

Very impressive from Gasquet.

I'm perfectly willing to take a month long ban from this forum for harshly criticizing Gasquet's fitness after he got broken at 4-4.

Gasquet takes the first set 7-6

Match isnt over tho by any means altho Gasquet's level of play is pretty high at the momment and Murray is staying with him and only narrowly lost that set. Could be in for a 3setter.

Can't believe I couldn't get my bet matched on Gasquet at 11.5. Got him at 4.5 early, but he's now down at 2.25...

I'm only watching scoreboard right now and wonder Gasquet is having "on-day"...

It rarely happens especially last a few years but it's absolute joy to witness
Gasquet's brilliance..

Incase anyone missed that, Aparently Gasquet gave the raquet he won the first set with to a ballboy and said "can you tell them to have this ready for the 3rd set" Aparently im not the only one who thinks this will go to 3 sets. xD

Why is it that anyone who plays a one handed back hand is in my list of favourite players? Somehow, those that do, it isn't just their backhand but the rest of their game that I admire also. Coincidence? Does the ohbh make you play the rest of your game a certain way?
