Sad that in the beginning of the year Fed fans were saying Baghdatis was a superior player than Medvedev. Guy didn't achieve 1/10 of what Med has and the gap will only get bigger.

I think he will win this time UsOpen 2022. The reason he screwed up in UsOpen 2021 was CYGS PRESSURE.
It wasn't fatigue. Right now, outside of clay vs Nadal, Novak is UNBEATABLE in a best of 5.
Seriously, I don't see guys like Titsp/Zed etc winning a slam.
Djokovic didn't look unbeatable in RG. He barely survived 2 five setters. USOpen he barely made to the final and didn't even win a set there. I think he is very suspect in USO next year.

Some will go to any length to save whatever is left, no matter how stupid it may sound.

Some of them just cling to the past. Medvedev is on his way to become one of the best HCers in a while, he possibly can become an ATG too

Djokovic just needs to win his next match. then it does not matter if Med goes undefeated for the rest of the season, it's all over as far as year ending number one goes. Basically it is out of Meds hands now, he needs Novak to lose everything from here on out to get it.
Nole is lucky it's not in the med's hands.

Reference to an old thread.

If you listen closely, the chants almost sound like Grigor. And if Med hears the similarity, watch out. He is in the exact same situation he was against Grigor in IW. Up a set and two breaks. Coincidence?

And there is one break back.

Many times was ATP YE ranking decided in Paris.
I remember in 2018, 2017, 2014, 2012, it was decided in Paris.
2015 was obviously different. And 2013, 2016, 2019, it went down the wire. Unfortunately all 3 were the years Nole ended the year at no.2 while leading for the entire year.

The 2014 ATP Official Rulebook, 9.03 (Emirates ATP Rankings), Section E lists three different tie breakers in the event that players have the same total number of points.

1) the most total points from the Grand Slams, ATP World Tour Masters 1000 mandatory tournaments and Barclays ATP World Tour Finals main draws

Considering Zverev wins the next match, he will tie with Tsitsipas at 6540 points. Now this is confusing, will they consider last year's points as well? Tsitsipas won YEC in 2019. Will that be counted? If not, I think Zverev will be ranked ahead of him.

I don't get the (eye test) impression that Gaston is going to be a big star, but man is he entertaining. Kudos to him for a great tournament. Looking forward to him being a regular on the Tour next year.

Ruud vs Zverev: which version of Zverev will show up today? He should win but you never know...
