Kind of sucks that 2 of the top 8 have been injured for the better part of the year

Federer get back to number 2

I would be keen to see if Roger can get back to number 2 before the US Open starts so he on the opposite side of the draw from Rafa ! But he has to defend Cincinatti. Does Djokovic have to defend many points before the US Open?

Posting a post with only Nadal linked: Typical.

I never would have thought Murray would only hold a relatively slim lead over Soderling heading into the US summer hard court season. With Murray defending a lot of points from last year, there is a chance he could fall behind Soderling, to #5 when it comes time for US Open seedings. Considering Murray was US Open RU in 2008, and Australian finalist in 2010, he may have a tough road int he next few months.

I am assuming Del Potro won't play US Open. If so, Roddick would sneak in at #8. But surprisingly, he's only barely ahead of Verdasco for that 8th seed. If Soderling leapfrogs Murray and Verdasco does the same with Roddick, could make for interesting draws at the Open.

definitely interesting --Soderling doesnt have any points to defend so his points can only rise unless he loses in first round of both Masters 1000's

Murray on the other hand has a win at Canada and SF at cincinnati. If he slips up then he will prove the MOST difficult QTF opponent for one of the Top 2 seeds

He has a final at cincy and QTF at canada ..so reasonable points for him to defend though not as much as Federer, Murray
