I know he hasn't historically had much success on this court, but Medvedev being ranked below Tsitsipas, Ruud, Fritz and Rublev atm is going to make the draw very interesting.

WORST website for the tournament in history of tennis. Not even the qualifying draws are out. 99% of the website is to make you buy tickets,,, that's all this website is good for

128-bracket, reduced to a 96-draw with top 32 receiving byes through to 2R.

The availability of potential #1 seed Novak Djokovic has been denied due to U.S policy rejecting entry to the country to any non-vaccinated visitors. No waiver was granted.

The availability of now #1 seed Carlos Alcaraz is also in question due to a leg injury suffered in practice during the off-season and then reaggravated in Rio last week. At this moment he intends to play.

Rafael Nadal continues on the sideline after a hip injury he suffered at AO. He will be out of action until at least M-C in April with the torn psoas muscle.

Defending champion Taylor Fritz is in the draw. Another top seed is Daniil Medvedev, who has a current 3-tourney 14-match winning streak. Rounding out the adjusted top 10:

Alcaraz
Tsitsipas
Ruud
Fritz
Medvedev
Rublev
Rune
Auger Aliassime
Hurkacz
Norrie

Announced WCs are:

Yibing Wu
Aleksandar Kovacevic
Brandon Holt
Jack Sock
Dominic Thiem

There are 24 qualies matches scheduled for later today (Monday).

Some interesting names in these matchups:

WC Learner Tien vs Garin

Jerry Shang vs Watanuki

OG CA native Johnson vs newbie (relatively) CA native Zach Svajda

CA native teen WC Alex Michelsen vs Swiss youngster Leandro Riedi

The other seeds in Section 1 (Alcaraz) are Griekspoor (3R opponent), Evans and PCB. Only Griekspoor has shown any form this season.
If he is healthy my Carlos ought to be able to make it through to the quarters without too much trouble!

Why haven't they put the full draw up? I have gotten that Carlos will play Holt or a qualifier in the second round. If he makes it to the third round Griekspoor, Monteiro, Pella, Draper, Etcheverry, Murray? (not sure about this one), and another player? Fourth round perhaps Evans, Carreno Busta or???? Quarters if he makes it that far (and I sure hope he does!) Hurkacz, Paul, F Cerundolo, Auger-Aliassime or Fritz? I just wish they would put up the draw in a clear and concise manner so I could get this all correct!

There is a Brit pod in Section 1 with Evans, Draper and Andy Murray set to eliminate all but one to advance to face Alcaraz.

I’ll go with Sinner. The level he showed in the first set was pretty promising at Rotterdam against the towering Russian. If he can play at that level in this tournament against a tired Medvedev, I see him lifting the trophy

Carlos is too much of an injury risk, my money is on the Octopus
I have doubts that Medvedev will show a good result here, because this is a slow hard. Agut can be dangerous in the 4th round. But I would like to see their semi-final with Tsitsipas and final with Alcaraz.

If Yibing Wu plays to the level he had in Dallas, he will have a decent chance to advance out of the Ruud section. He plays Munar 1R and chalk has him vs ADF, Khachanov and Ruud. It’s a decent path to get into a QF, where chalk would have him play Med.

The buzz is Alcaraz won't even play second round, he's not recovered from his injury. Not sure if this is true, but it's what's being said.

RBA is not in good form since AO. I think Zed will advance if they meet. A 4R ZedMed match could be popcorn level.

Hopefully Monfils is fully fit after his long rehab from a foot injury suffered last summer. He plays Jordan Thompson 1R with a chance to play Tsitsipas next.

I know right! They usually publish the draw at least three months in advance.

just saying this indian wells Tournament Website is the worst i have ever seen. It should at least say Draw will be available on certain date and so on. Entire website looks like it was made only for one thing... How to buy tickets .....lol

I see Mr. Van Rijthoven isn't in the qualifying draw. Back must be really hurt. Hopefully he can play again soon. Really a shame.

Eubanks is in freefall after narrowly missing out on cracking the top 100 a month ago. He just lost 1R qualies in three sets to Marterer, his fourth loss in a row across all levels.

newsflash: that's what EVERY website is made for. ;)

Possible Sinner-Musetti derby in round two, and an intriguing Sinner-Rune in R4... Jannik's gotta like his draw. All the historic nemeses (Med, Tsits, Zverev) are down in the bottom, and Alcaraz doesn't seem to be in top condition. However, Juice Boy's draw is also looking mighty soft, so if he's anywhere near playing shape, he could easily work his way into a groove..
Will we finally see him lift a big title ? He needs to take even ONE this year

Novak can loose world number 1 if Alcaraz wins Indian wells( gets it for a week if he fails to defend Miami) and Miami the sunshine double. With only 10 players male or female doing that in history.
tsitsipas - win 1 of either Indian wells or Miami and at least make the final of the other…

Novak can loose world number 1 if Alcaraz gets to the final but only holds it for a week due to Miami points falling off to keep it he needs to do the sunshine double. With only 10 players male or female doing that in history.

So, Tsitsipas for the sunshine Double and the world no.1? :-D
