Sinner v Mannarino if anyone has tennistv. Mannarino with the sky high tennis IQ, will be interesting to see how he solves the solid quality baselining from Sinner

Mannarino seems to be a problem player for Sinner

He's kind of a problem player for everyone. Smart, skillful junkballer with a great feel and surprising wheels - with these slow conditions and disintegrating balls, he's like a kid in a candy store. However, Sinner is definitely playing like garbage. Also, while the knee doesn't appear to be bothering him, he keeps blowing his nose obsessively like he has a bad cold or a case of the WuFlu. Always something with this kid...

When I visited arid climates coming from humid East Coast, I often developed symptoms that included a runny nose. Something about the air irritated my nasal passages, especially when it was windy.

Sinner v Wawrinka 4R. Stan was Jannik’s first slam opponent at USO’19. He lost to the former champion that day. Things got better after that for the kid and they’re now 2-2 h2h.

yeah, he's also suffered from numerous allergies in the past - he's the complete package!

Anyways, through in straights. If nothing else, he was clinical and never was in any trouble on his own serve. First serve percentage was spotty as always, but he did enough. Fat Stan should be a better matchup for him, but ya never know...

I love how Taylor fritz has won like 12 matches in a row here and no one has mentioned his name
8 in a row. 8 is not like 12 in any way.

Did you see how he struggled 2R vs Shelton? That may be why he is not a big topic, especially while he smeared HC-challenged Baez today. Fucsovics will be a test.

Saw Draper and Murray at 1-all and thought that could turn into a grind. Put a stream on and the first point I see is like a 25 shot rally.

Draper's got potential but he's gotta learn to be more aggressive from the baseline.

:-D :-D :-D :-D

MUGray’s second serve on BP hits the bottom of the net! What an embarrassing double fault. Your time is up old man. A real passing of the torch moment.

Why is Murray so hard to root for? I like him in interviews, and unlike many top guys including the big 3, he's actually funny.

I entered tonights match actually intending to root for him over Draper. but halfway through the set and I'm finding myself pulling for Draper... Andy's moaning and groaning and box chatter just alienates me so much.

I mean 8 is pretty darn good. Hes playing well. He is tough on this court. Sorry Shelton aint no easy out.

Every champion here that makes 4R the following year wins 8. He trailed Shelton badly and then beat a tomato can on HC (Baez). As I said, 4R vs Fucsovics is a truer test of his level. He looked fine in Delray (title) but fell apart physically vs Paul in Acapulco.

Fritz is good, deserves credit for those good streaks but then he does things like lose 2R AO’23 (Popyrin) and 1R USO’22 (Holt). Very much an enigma.

Every single year has basically been better than the last. You cant really ask more than that.

I'm with you 100%. There is just something about his behavior on court, and his yelling at his box, that really rubs me the wrong way. (Also still think he's a complete a-hole for telling Fognini to shut up a few years ago, in the most arrogant British way possible. The guy who whines and has a mini tantrum after every point he loses, telling another player how to behave? Seriously?)
