Never taunt another man over his hair. The Norwood Reaper works in strange ways. It is said that mocking a man summons the Norwood Reaper.

Was not trying to be insulting! Was meerly making an objective observation.

Also on topic: Are you serious Med?! Why does he always wait till MP to choke spectacularly?

Pathetic.. Well. If you want to know why Djoker/Nadal is the face that runs this place at 50 years old. ..... Just watch this match.

What a bizarre 10 minutes or so.

-3 MPs on Tiafoe's serve, all saved.

-Followed up by Med getting broken after losing like 5 points on serve all day.

-Immediately breaks back on 4 straight points.

-Wins 7 in a row overall to reach triple MP but gets broken again.

****s sake we really need Meddy - Alcaraz on HC and Meddy to avoid a 2022 style PTSD where he becomes irrelevant for the rest of the year… and yet both are going to happen

Credit to Tiafoe, he really raised his game towards the end there. Still made too many mistakes from the backcourt, but all the drop shots and volleys he was botching earlier came through for him in crunch time.

Tiafoe showed us that Med is vulnerable. 18-match winning streak and needed like 94 match points to close it out.

Crowds goes absolutely insane for a couple of Teef points.
Then Med cools them down to get to 4-1 in the tie-break.
Then he seals the deal and the crowd's adrenaline is now totally shot. :)

Good match. I like Tiafoe. Medvedev could've closed it out earlier, but seemed to easily take the lead again every time that Tiafoe came back. The serve was a huge weapon today. I still think Tiafoe is somewhat underrated (but I've been thinking that for years so I'm already kind of proven right by how well he's doing). By the way, I feel like there could've been a separate match thread for this one (yeah yeah I could've created it myself)

Is anyone rooting for Sinner tonight? I've been waiting a long time to see how Med & Alcaraz would match up against each other.

It's insane that the two breakthrough World #1's and US Open champions haven't played each other since before either one had accomplished that.

Nice fight by Foe, he always gives the crowd a little something special... That's some streak by Med though, though I'm fairly certain it ends tomorrow.

Still, who was the last player to win 4 consecutive tournaments with zero weeks of rest between them?

I think I am. His tempo has impressed me in IW.

There was one week gap in the JMDP 4x title run in 2008 but add in clay/HC versatility and tender age (19) to Pony boy’s degree of difficulty. After all, there was a week between Dubai final and Med’s 2R at IW. Lots of travel in the “rest” week for both too.

Will be a considerable accomplishment tomorrow.

Just heard that Medvedev has not had a hair cut since his winning streak started, and he is not planning to until he loses.
I was thinking his beard is longer than usual so he probably has that going on there too. That seems like a Medvedev kind of thing to do.
