So Berlocq makes it to the quarters?

Berlocq only played one match (he was the replacement for Gaudio), but he won it and won both sets played. Which means on the leaderboard, Berlocq won 100% of matches. Unfortunately for Ramirez Hidalgo and Di Mauro, they played two matches. Ramirez Hidalgo beat Gaudio but lost to Di Mauro, who lost to Berlocq. The standings:

Berlocq: 100% of matches won; 100% of sets won.
Ramirez Hidalgo: 50% of matches won, 50% of sets won.
Di Mauro: 50% of matches won, 50% of sets won.

That's REALLY unfair.

no, 3 players with 1 win but berlocq didn't play the same number of match => berlocq out.
(di mauro in the QF 'cause he won his match agaist ramirez-hidalgo)

(same for devilder/ferrero/dlouhy, see post #42)

that's the magic of round robins !

- devilder lost to lapentti
- ferrero lost to devilder

so there was still a chance for ferrero to qualify, if he defeated lapentti, because it would be a "3 ex-aequo players" situation, whose winner is determined by the % of sets/games.

but with lapentti withdrawing... even if ferrero won against the alternate (which he did) it's a "2 ex-aequo players" situation, whose winner is determined by the match they played. and devilder won it... ;)
Alright then smart guy. Since you seem to understand this RR stuff better than anyone else (from what I can tell), why didn't Cañas win his group, even though he had 2 wins?..
Nevermind. His set win % went down after losing to Horna. I get it.

2 wins, right but...

he won a first match, but it was in the "main draw elimination round", which is preliminary to the RR stage...
then in RR he won against nalbandian but lost agains horna.
so in their group it's :
1. horna 2W
2. canas 1W 1L
3. nalbandian 2L

when we said this would confuse fans... here is another evidence !

please stop this madness and get rid of this ridiculous RR system

BTW, I was to the tourney last night. Horna is still playing like he was a top 10 and i was impressed by Monaco´s performance (although i wanted Moya to win).
Sorry Vive, no pics this time. :(

Wow, that's really stupid. A round that doesn't count.

i watched live 2 of the horna´s matches (against Nalbo and Cañas) and to tell you the truth, justice would have been if the peruvian got the trophy.
ummm wouldn't you have a service to ask to oscar ?!...
(at one moment i thought you were going to ask him to undress his avatar !) ;)

but i'll trust on you about horna's level (although i didn't see him play this year) and probably vote for him for acapulco. :)

Monaco - Di mauro will be the final tomorrow, Monaco beats Almagro in a outstanding performance (6-1 y 7-6 (3)). Also Di mauro beats Hartfield in a poor match by 6-1 y 6-4. i think that pico will not have problems to win the championship. :D

Monaco beats Almagro to a place in the final!
He now plays di Mauro, and whoever wins, it will be his first ATP title :)

Monaco game, set, match, championship and girlfriend :D (ops lopilato) haha. Congratulations to "Pico" the new champion of Buenos Aires tournament.
