We are going the distance!

Ferrer making an immediate impact. Getting Federer through so we get at least two Federer matches now, and giving us our first three set match.

Ferrer wins = Murray needs to win.
Nishikori wins = Murray needs to win in straight sets

CMON FERRER!

Wait... is that right? Im confused again xD

He's never beaten Federer himself either. I like this Ferrer follow. :)

Not necessarily. Murray can still win in 3 if Nishi wins. Then it will come down to game % between Nishi and Murray for 2nd place because they would be tied at 4 sets won and 3 sets lost, and Federer would be first on set %.

One thing is for sure, Federer V Murray will be a red hot encounter. One needs to win to qualify, the other needs it to stay in contention for year end number one. And there is a small matter of who will take the lead in their H2H.

Can't wait! :)

Plenty have respect, don't get me wrong, but there is the loser contingent that hate anyone that doesn't beat the Big 4...like it's that easy.
Yeah, fully agree with you on this. Ferrer has made about a DECADE of a career always living up to his ranking in whatever tournament he played.
I cannot see how folks cannot have respect for that. Like you said, it's not that 'easy' to defeat the Big Stars of the game.

I have a lot more respect for Ferrer's consistency, than for certain slam winners who completely deteriorate immediately thereafter. No names mentioned, but I guess you know who I'm pointing at. ;)
As I have respect for his decision to sign up for an alternative at this WTF. Shows his determination, if there ever was any question about it.

Kei takes the lead! Is he currently the cream of the crop on tour when it comes to point construction?

And that makes 6 WTF's...top 15 all time. Also 600 wins for a career, a Masters and a slam final.

Wouldn't you take a career like that?

+1 to both! Kei's running away with the match, some great ball striking. Ferrer might get one break back, but not two

i've installed sopcast, that works too (commenting in Spanish though). Wiziwig
Got me another one as well in the mean time. ;)

I guess the lagging of streams actually shows the interest in this match to true tennis fans. ;)
Finally a DECENT match, in stead of a blow-out!

Down 0-4, 0-30. What does Ferrer do? Fold like the rest of them? Wins the game, gets 5 BP in the next and almost makes the match close again.
#Fighter!!

Great play by Kei to hold too
