Good chance for alcaraz to get his confidence back. If he can get a title under his belt that will help him kick on again. I do feel he will have a strong clay season again.

I can see Jarry giving Carlos some problems should they meet. To me Carlos needs to put down a statement here. Norrie should not overlook Ofner who is hitting the ball a ton this year thus far.

Ya! Boo! to them. I have found TennisTv.com useful.

Yes, Nicolas could be a challenge, He's come up the rankings - number 18 at present. He took the 1st set in their SF in Rio 2023, and at Wimbledon 2023 - he can be a handful. He's playing Stan in his first match - can Stan prevail?

Dere requiring a 3rd set to win - a bagel for poor Marin.

Pleased to see Middelkoop / Melo through.

Turns out they are showing the other matches but only on the red button. So I can’t record those. Means I miss them if I’m busy and there is no on demand. Do you have tennis tv on your television though? I’d go for that instead but what puts me off is that I can only watch it on my iPad.

I have TTv.com because I can watch whilst working and its great for that purpose on my laptop. I can attach to the TV to watch on the bigger screen if we want to. I refuse to subscribe to Sky, but have Eurosport.

Anyway, switching between Rotterdam / Buenos Aires at present and this chap Diaz Acosta ( whoever he is) is giving Cerundolo a run for his money. Tie break looming. I'm interested in the Stan / Nicolas match later.

Cerundolo bagelled in the 2nd set, losing in straights. Diaz Acosta impressive - can he sustain it?

If you're a pro like Norrie, why do you even bother flying to Argentina to lose your first match. Same with Gauff in Qatar.
Take away appearance fees and pros would be trying harder

-Good to see Ferrero in the box

-Amazing drop shot (did he mean that?) and lob combo to break Ugo Carabelli

-Why are you wearing white socks on clay???

-Still seems extremely undisciplined footwork wise and YOLOing points to win

-Looks to have added spin on the FH though. Which is the biggest improvement he needs to make. Add margin young Carlitos, margin wins you tournaments.

...............Why are you wearing white socks on clay???..................
This is the most pertinent question ever asked in the whole history of humankind (possibly in all of creation). Ugo playing well. Carlos looking unperturbed. Neither seems to want this 4th game in the 2nd set.

Ugo playing good now, fun match so far, if he holds here It Will be interesting
It won't do those white socks much good though. He did not hold and Carlos should get this done in straights - I hope he doesn't make it interesting! Lool.

Coria played an excellent match and did not lose heart at losing the 2nd set, retaining focus and getting the job done. Assuming Carlos gets through, he'll play Vavasorri next.

I fear Carlos's innate tennis IQ is kind of low. Some of it is just being young but in terms of general on court instincts.
Carlos has just said in the court interview that he was a bit nervous at the start, and it showed. I disagree re: tennis IQ. It is precisely his superb innate feel for the game that has separated him from the other younger players. I anticipate that he'll improve / hone his skills to be more incisive when needed. His opponent had some matches here already, and had nothing to lose, putting up an admirable challenge. Yet it never looked as though Carlos was under threat. He was able to right the ship when needed. I suspect that, as @Slicer said, it's lack of match play and getting used to the conditions here .......

Loool! Quality, not quantity, my friend! ;)

Darderi comes hot off the win in Cordoba, so ought to be keen, playing Baez. I'm off though, and look forward to the QF's.

I agree, honestly prefer It this way but It just surprises me that the ones saying all the things Carlos lacks dont even watch his games, at least when i critizice a player i talk first hand, anyway, good to see you here and lets see what this tournament has for us.

Nervy from Carlos against a clay courter who was playing his 4th round and bedded in. However, there were too many errors from Carlos and his real problem was the fact that he barely won a point behind his second serve during the entire match. Some great drop volleying really helped him out here.
