OK... so you tell a hot woman with no clothes on to put on more clothes? "Take your thong off, babe and put on a heavy coat!!"

Do you?

Same premise. God, you men are so clueless.
You should check out futures megastar Charles Bertimon.

C'mon, Ruud (though my C'mons seem to be the K.O.D lately)
Your prediction of Norwegian God taking it in three is looking better 'n better. Holger's gone off the boil as he often does. His level in the 1st set was the best he's played since clay season last year.

Holger pretending to vomit on the side of the court.

Wow-- haven't seen that one before. A new trick he's learned.... FTU (fake throwing up).

The better tennis player and Superior Human Being wins.

Now please take out the mustachioed trash in the final, Caspar Ruud.

Calling an utterly boring mental dwarf a "Superior Human Being" tells a lot. Less about Rune though, more about you.

Tonight will be Ruud's 20th tour-level final and his first final at 500-level. As another thread noted earlier this week, he's never yet won a title at a level higher than 250. De Minaur is a tough opponent, but less so than Ruud's five opponents in other events above 250-level (Alcaraz x 2, Nadal, Djokovic x 2), so this is the best opportunity he's yet had to win a title above 250-level.

It'd be funny if his first 500 were on hard courts, given that nine of his 10 titles to date were on clay. But then again, three of his five finals at 1000-level and above were on hard courts (Roland Garros x 2, Miami, US Open, Tour Finals).

A couple of nice guys in the final. Brat is gone. Would have liked Draper to finish that match, but the way Demon was yanking him around the court, I'm not surprised he retired. Ruud looking to have another good year. Looks like he's been working pretty hard on his game, just like Demon.

Up a break twice in the third set and couldn't hold it. That's some serious mental failure.
You're right. Being a Rune fan is like getting a colon cancer diagnosis every single day.

No exaggeration. No joy, just endless trauma.

Casper coming on in 15 minutes, hope he takes out mustached bore in straights.

Well at least he doesn't have the same birthday as Adolf.

Would like to see tonight's match go the distance. That blown up, bow-legged fool would have had little chance if he'd somehow snaked the match away from Ruud.

Ruud up an early break now, hope this goes the distance. I’ll vote for Ruud over the rat faced disgrace to tennis De Minaur any day.

Oof. That forehand error was a little gassy to give the break back.
And an even more unforgivable one on BP there, with De Minaur totally at his mercy.

Ruud’s main issue to me is his temperament not really matching his body and talents. He’s wired like a classical 70s clay courter to keep the ball in front of him and grind until the moment is right; whereas I think he could be capable of actually dictating play against almost all players. He struggles to sustain offense consistently when he has the front foot in rallies.

Finally. That’s what Ruud can do every single point. Dictate with the big spinny FH, actually throw your hips into your shots, and move the rat around on a string.

Ruud decided he wanted to dictate play at the YEC in 2022 and it earned him a Finals spot, and I have yet to see anything close to that level from him on HC since.

I hate both of them but I like De Minaur more

Ruud is a very frustrating watch. At 15-30 he had De Minaur right where he wants him, second serve, and yet he returns from the back wall, allows ADM to sneak up to the net, and hits a lob 5 feet out. You just can’t allow that to happen if you’re a serious tennis player.

He’s a 250 level player. God knows how he made 3 slam finals.

Ruud forehand is pretty big, but not big enough to blow Demon 2024 off the court. He's leaking oil here and there with errors because I think the footwork is letting him down after two matches where he has been defending a lot (Shelton and Rune.)

I've not watched a lot of the rat-faced Demon in his recent surge, but he's undeniablely jumped in level much like Djoko 2011; he's that much better. Obviously he's not in the league of Nadal, Murray, or Djokovic for movement, but its awfully close and he has a tenacity that probably puts a ton of pressure on you, especially when you don't want to grind with him and are trying to shorten some points, like Ruud.

Nice match. De Minaur sort of light weight Murray, but possibly even more grueling to play. I think on clay he still won't be great due to lack of power, but on courts where he can counter punch he's getting to be a real load because you either grind and junk ball him or you try to blow him off the court which is feeding his counter punching. Not many players will want to go the distance with him in a match.

Is it just my imagination, or does De Minaur and Boulter seem to go deep at the same time?
Are they still going together?

Title #8 for De Minaur placing him 7th in the leaderboard of titles won by the current top #10 and the 4th top #10 ranked player to win a title this season. It is his 2nd title at ATP500 level and his 1st title defence. He becomes the 1st player to defend the title in Acapulco since it became a hardcourt event in 2014.
