Sorry, you're right. It was Draper who won it but obviously won't be defending.
I doubt he will play it too. Will probably focus his remaining energies on Paris and Turin.

I would like to see Sinner win a masters event to end the year. So I don’t want him to play this event.

It is Vienna with usually lots of friends and family in attendance - very unlikely that he doesn't play.

You do realize the two events are back to back?
One extra motivator: If he withdraws from this event, he mathematically can't finish the year number one. He's at 8,500 points for the year right now. Wins in Paris and Turin would put him at 11,000. Problem is, Alcaraz already has 11,040 points. So Sinner needs at least 40 more points from Vienna to have any kind of shot. It probably won't happen anyway, but it's his only chance. A withdrawal here would be forfeiting the ranking until February, pretty much. (Don't know if that's an enormous concern, but it probably plays a role in his decision making.)

Honestly don’t really care about the number 1 ranking for him. It’s more big titles and slams I care about. He has floundered at the masters events this year, it’s disappointing
