He has not the most stellar in tie breaks in the last two years, but it is a small sample size against better players because he usually wins the sets before. Corroborated by markedly higher win % in the years before.

Today the forehand is not working well, takes more time to get up to speed on an new surface then the backhand…
Generally agree that his tie break stats look worse than they actually are. Still he didn't play well in that one, quite a few uncharacteristic unforced errors.

Frankly so far this grass season Sinner served fine, just that one break. Forehand less stable even considering that Fabian’s forehand is quite a bit better than his backhand.

As I have written before concentration.

P.S: Which he had…

I'd probably root for Kim Jong Un or Satan if they were playing against Alcaraz, but today's loss to Draper is actually a terrible result. Now, there are good possibilities that the juicy little Spaniard will again be drawn in the same half as Sinner...
Losing to an in-form Draper on grass is not a terrible result. Actually watch the match, Draper was playing on fire today. Winning is always preferable, but that was not a terrible result.

Tsits not struff enough, 4:6, 4:6, and out. Struff with just 5 UEs in the entire match! Next against sonic Sinner, what a draw that is :D

Struff with an easy win against Tsitsipas. Tsitsipas actually won 11 points on return in this match, so it was a fairly good return day by his grass-court standards.

Struff is tough on grass. Much like with Draper and Alcaraz, if Sinner doesn't play at his best, he's going to lose.

Watching Struff thumping Tsitsipas in straights is a lovely way to start the day.
Still don't get the hate for Tsitsipas. He doesn't have obnoxious fans in here (or any fans in here, period). And he's just a goofy airhead. Why does he bother people? At least he has the proper backhand technique, which should be appreciated.

Nice photo of the pre-tournament photo (including Fonseca!) Those height-obsessed posters might note that Sinner doesn't look that much shorter than 6'6 Zedzilla. Meddy is also clearly taller than Chainz, both are listed at 6'6.

Love Jan's coach. Cool.
His job must be pretty easy. Jan go out and club the ball. Smother your opponent.

I wonder what it would be like to play a guy like Struff on a fast grass court. It probably feels like an entirely different game than tennis. More like you are under constant assault by an ogre with a big green club.

At least he has the proper backhand technique, which should be appreciated.
that's the thing - he doesn't, but it buys too much leeway from those pining for Fed and the days of the one hander.

he reminds me of this trope:

If he's dictating on offense, he'll do well. If his opponent gets to his backhand, he's cooked. And his lack of improvement is frustrating as well. I'd rather he get knocked out by Struff earlier than occupy a spot on a surface he wasn't going to do well on anyway.

Straff also takes time away by going big which Stef needs more than most. On slow hardcourt and clay both can blast away but the Greek gets more easily rushed on his weak side. He always suffers when he isn't dictating points.

Hubi won rather convincing indeed but he has more dips than the best and has a hard time breaking. In the second week of a slam his serve advantage also lessens.

Zverev seems now in control, the Arthurian storm has passed...
