Ruud will lose unless a miracle happens but It is interesting how his matches against Alcaraz are usually more competitive than his matches against Sinner even though I regard Alcaraz as the better player between him and Sinner.

Him and alcaraz are very good friends and also golf buddies.

Sinner is not friends with anyone :)

I do not think Alcaraz holds back against Ruud because they are friends though. He wants to win as much as everyone else.
Alcaraz definitely didn't hold back. Ruud was just too stingy in the first set and Alcaraz was careless / reckless. Ruud moved so quickly and made sure he didn't miss any ball. Ruud looked more alert in the first set compared to Alcaraz.

Then Alcaraz got angry and woke up in the second set.

Alcaraz since that inexplicable loss to Goffin in Miami in real matches...

Monte Carlo - Won
Barcelona - Finals and was hampered in the final against Rune
Rome - Won
French Open - Won
Queens - Won
Wimbledon - Final
Cincinnati - Won
US Open - Won
Tokyo - Finals - tbd

He's lost 4 total sets since Wimbledon lost 1 match, when completely healthy, since Miami (6 months and 9 tournaments all but 3 which were Slams or Masters) which was a Finals against an ATG. This, my friends, is what's called peak tennis.

He’s been serving like a maniac lately. That’s according to Opelka and Rafter. It’s a new Ruud. He uses a smaller frame now.
I had a similar experience when switching to the slightly smaller Head TXE (dating myself) from the Pro Staff 85-
best I ever served was with the TXE.

Most guys just hate playing Sinner's play style for some reason. Including Djokovic. AND including Alcaraz. Sinner just needs to understand that.

Alcaraz was incredibly frustrated and ranting at his player box during Wimbledon. Sinner was in his head. It happened again briefly during the 2nd set of the USO Final, but Sinner let him off the hook.

All this talk from Sinner about revamping his game, it seems silly to me. He just needs to play his own game that tiny bit better. If he just takes one of those match points, or holds serve, in the French, this entire season suddenly seems very, very different, and all the talk of an Alcaraz matchup problem seems misplaced.
