Fils takes on the World No 1. The H2H is 2-0 in Alcaraz’s favour but Fils is back healthy with Goran in his box and has only dropped one set since his opening round.....
Yah man, pleased to see Fils come back from injury to find form in Doha. Dude is very talented and seems to relish a challenge. Carlitos has looked tired to me in Doha - yet remained focused and incisive when needed.
The 22 year old 'veteran' of recent times facing an exciting and excellent 21 year old. Superb stuff.

I’ve noticed he looked tired at points too. Could be the humidity though, pretty draining when you’re plying every day.

Fils will bring the heat. He is probably the biggest hitter on tour these days. Alcaraz has been dealing with in-form players very well, but he will have his work cut out for him for sure. I don't think Fils has anything like the stamina Carlos does, especially since he's coming back from injury, but he could just blast him off the court:

But he looked tired in the match against Rublev. I feel Fils has a real chance.
Fils is still not really in shape, and he will probably not get all the way back to the form we saw before if the back injury is really all that serious. There’s no worse player to face than Carlos if you’re a few pounds overweight and don’t want to be stretched

I believe Carlos might lose this one. Fils is playing amazingly and defeated Menskik in straights, which just defeated Sinner who is, by all metrics, slighlty better tha Carlos at least in a HC.

Bookies are exagerating giving this 1.10-Carlos 6.25 Fils odds, tbh.

Wonder why all of the Spanish players are fit and the french are overweight a lot of them, consiering they have the same culture.

They do not have the same culture lol

And I don’t know if this is still the case, but apparently the French are very stringent about PED testing and the Spanish, well….

Do you think Carlitos dopes? Walking a thin line there as an Italian supporter.

I have questions about basically every player out there. I’ve accepted that any/all of them can be doping and I believe I’ve identified the rules of the game.

If you want to know what gets my attention re him specifically, it’s the right arm telephone cord veins, and the quick changes to his physique. He showed up to AO25 looking like a starving werewolf but then started to look a little more booby in that same tank top in the subsequent tournaments. My suspicion is that the players show up in “bodybuilding competition spec” for the Slams (ie dehydrated from consuming diuretics to get the banned substances out) which is why they look so shredded. This could also explain why there is now so much cramping/nausea/vomiting at the Slams

Spanish is the opposite culture of French.
Spanish are known for taking the blue-collar jobs in France, while the French turn up their noses and call the Spanish workers "peasants".

French men can't win Slams, while Spanish, Serbian, Swiss, Italian men can win Slams.
Yannick Noah is the last Frenchman to win a Slam, and he only won ONE Slam title, and he only reached the Semis of a Slam TWICE.

The fact that French men can't win Slams, has made them extremely bitter and hateful towards the hardest working people in the world, like Nadal...

"Rafael Nadal successfully sued former French Minister for Health and Sport Roselyne Bachelot for defamation in 2017, following her false 2016 accusations that he hid a positive drug test during a 2012 injury break. A Paris court ordered Bachelot to pay €10,000 in damages and a suspended fine, vindicating Nadal."
  • The Allegation: In March 2016, Bachelot claimed on French television channel D8 that Nadal's seven-month injury hiatus in 2012 was "probably due to a positive doping test".

Don't they get tested randomly all the time? You seem to think they get tested at events.

Djokovic was asked to respond to reports that ITF records show that in 2011, only 18 blood tests were taken of the top players.
"Yeah, I wasn't tested with blood for last six, seven months," Djokovic said. "It was more regular ... two, three years ago. I don't know the reason why they stopped it."

"Based on reports from early 2013, Rafael Nadal stated he underwent numerous drug tests during his seven-month injury layoff, specifically mentioning that he had passed six blood and urine tests in a short period upon his return."

"In a separate February 2013 interview with L'Équipe, Nadal mentioned being tested nine times during his absence, with four of those tests occurring in the two weeks surrounding his return."

Cramping/Nausea/Vomiting is due mainly to heat, especially at the AO.

Alcaraz looks tired and Fils is fresh, hungry and in peak form. If he is ever gonna beat Alcaraz this is gonna be one of his best chances.

All that being said, Alcaraz in 2
