I feel he already lowered it a bit, but could be beneficial to decrease it much moreI think Fils still should lower his toss on serve, am confident Goran will take care of it. Great decision getting him into the team

On pointIt is also good to see potential in the younger players coming up after Alcaraz, the buck doesn't stop with him, the youth movement continues,
You can see Fils and Mensik can play some serious ball, and them being the youthful chasers will surely make the next couple of seasons interesting if they remain fit
Yes, right now it feels like a burden has been lifted from his shoulders, he seems free flowing + unleashed. Curious to see what happens this yearThe guy is just unplayable right now. Getting rid of JCF at this stage of his career has hugely boosted him.

Are you talkig about Fils? Yes, he looks unplayable unlike Carlos who struggled last 3 matchesThe guy is just unplayable right now. Getting rid of JCF at this stage of his career has hugely boosted him.

Carlos is a bit tired and experimenting a lot, wouldn't call that struggling but trying to optimise his game on fasts hard courts going forwardAre you talkig about Fils? Yes, he looks unplayable unlike Carlos who struggled last 3 matches
I look at this objective. His first serve has been poor at this tournament. He is barely able to get any free points on his serve. Khachanov and Rublev returned his serve with ease and broke him many times their overall level is just not great to capitalize on these chances. I believe he will lose the final to either Mensik or Fils. This reminds me of his Barcelona run last year when he struggled until the final and lost to Rune who beat everyone easy. Fils is having exactly that type of a run Rune had in Barcelona.Carlos is a bit tired and experimenting a lot, wouldn't call that struggling but trying to optimise his game on fasts hard courts going forward
Yes, I wouldn't rule out him losing to either Fils or Mensik. Bigger picture tho this tournament really impressed me in terms of Carlos' approach and trying out new things. Yeah, he's got a good vibe- showing confidence.Mensik showing great resilience in the second set, love how unphased he seems when trailing
Happens to inexperienced players after achieving a big upset. Needs to grow.Mensik seems flat compared to yesterday. Fils is playing with more energy and keeping his nose in front. You can see though that Fils is the better athlete between the two.
Fils is a beast. Really really hope that his back won't be an issue going forward, he is a warrior. With better shot selection, patience, variety and an improved serve he could do a lot of damage on the tourMensik seems flat compared to yesterday. Great athleticism and feet from Fils. Has a booming forehand as well. He potentially can be like the Tsonga of this generation if he gets better.Fils is a beast. Yep. It's common for inexperienced players to have a letdown in the next round after a big win.Happens to inexperienced players after achieving a big upset. Needs to grow.
Fils you mean, right? If so I totally agreeGreat athleticism and feet from Mensik. Has a booming forehand as well. He potentially can be like the Tsonga of this generation if he gets better.
Haha yea, I had to correct it. He defintely has potential though but needs to avoid bad injuries, and take care of his body. That last injury kept him out for a while.Fils you mean, right? If so I totally agree![]()
Totally, that could be a career de-railing injury if it flares up again, he was out for almost a year since the clay season, right?Haha yea, I had to correct it. He defintely has potential though but needs to avoid bad injuries, and take care of his body. This last injury kept him out for a while.
I have that feeling as well. Both of these guys are spectacularI think we are seeing the supporting cast that were looking for, and who knows, maybe the all important third man to Sinner and Alcaraz.

Under Goran's observing eyes hehe, missed him. Best memories when he was in Nole's boxLets play some ball.
Well he got injured in RG of last year and then came back at Canada too soon, and has been out of the game until February of this year. So he only played that one tournament for 8 or 9 months.Totally, that could be a career de-railing injury if it flares up again, he was out for almost a year since the clay season, right?
12 out of his last 13 tournaments he's been in the finals, 3 slam wins in the last 9 months. This is a historically peaky run by Carlos, just crazy good.
I have been a Goran fan since day one, still have one of my racquet sleeves signed by him hehe
I think there's still more to come if he keeps the hunger alive, the ways he is experimenting right now shows me he's getting close to his peak but not being 100% there yet, I see even more upside to his gameAnyone saying he is not at his absolute peak right now clearly doesn't know tennis IMO.
The drama we saw in that Wimbledon might never be replicated, it had everything, and I don't know if I ever heard a louder crowd than that Ivanisevic-Rafter final.W 2001 will always be the greatest single tournament that was every played. I am confident we will never see it topped in our lifetimes.
Yesss, it was unbelievably epic! Still smiling when I think about it heheW 2001 will always be the greatest single tournament that was every played. I am confident we will never see it topped in our lifetimes.
