Not super relevant to this tournament specifically, but watching these 250s and 500s only makes me more sad about the deterioration of M1000s into two-week events. Having the same players play every day of the week is so fun.
I think when it comes to 500 level events Doha and Dubai are really the toughest to win because the players don't get any day off by having the final on a Saturday. So it's easy to see playing getting fatigued by the end of the week and the level of tennis suffering. As a player you can't really get involved in a long match during the week or you will be cooked.

Agree. This was a big reason I think the M1000s had their own sort own sort of special prestige. But it's diminished and will continue diminishing as they essentially becomes slams in everything but name

I don't mind having 1 and a half weeks M1000 if they are in IW and Miami because of their history with the big draws and also you might get top players involved in doubles as well.
But there is no point of a 2 week event at the other events like Canada or Cinci.

Khachanov take the first set over tiny, 7-6 (3).

I wouldn’t be surprised if Carlos goes out tonight, he seems a bit disconnected or exhausted at times. And KK is relentless so far

There is nothing more difficult in life than seeing your favorite player lose a tiebreaker.
I'm old...want me to top you?

back in the days when ESPN had almost all the tennis, at least non-slams, they would often show tape-delayed matches...of course their ticker would run on the bottom of the screen and occasionally give away the final score of your favorite player's match during the match, after you avoided sports news all day...a loss would kill you...but tiebreak losses are brutal too

there will be times this will happen to him (if it does today) even as he's winning multiple slams a year...you can't get up and play A+ every match at every tournament...I know he seems unbeatable now but there will still be some strange losses...happened to all greats...no offense to KK

I guess the only upside in seeing the score before seeing the replay, is that you won't suffer as much from a marathon loss (y)
Nadal losing the 2012 AO Final is the worst experience of my life, and I saw it live, whereas if I could have seen that score before seeing the match I'd suffer far less.

tough call, that initial blast can knock you over...you might hit your head on the corner of the end table and die....both brutal scenarios

if only these players knew how much we suffered :)

True fans will never forget that Karen Khachanov, when asked about a book or movie he'd read recently, answered The Picture of Dorian Gray...for this reason alone we must always support him
seems like a great guy...if he won more, more people would know it
