Some potentially interesting matches tomorrow, including Alcaraz / Monteiro; Diaz Acosta / Wawrinka and Hanfmann/Jarry .
Middlekoop & Melo and Salisbury & Ram are my picks for the doubles here.

Edit: Loool! When I looked at the schedule of play for today, it showed virtually all the players playing today at 7.30 pm ( UK time!) and I assumed it was the applicable schedule! Anyway I note that Alcaraz / Monteiro; Hanfmann / Jarry and Diaz Acosta / Wawrinka are playing tomorrow.

I'd like to see Garín or Seyboth Wild to take the title here, but unlikely. Garín has been gone for a while, really hope he's fully fit and back on tour for RG and Wimbledon.

Corentin Moutet has qualified! I repeat, Corentin Moutet has qualified! Finally there will be a main draw tennis match worth watching in 2024.

this brazilian crowd during the tablio seyboth wild match has to be the most toxic crowd ive ever seen. kept cheering everytime tablio missed a first serve or errored. they really helped seyboth win it. tablio was the better player but still lost cause of the toxic crowd and umpire didnt say **** to the crowd either.

With Cerundolo being on miserable form - even after his first round win, he's 3-6 on the year, and all three of his victories have been against players outside the top 100; the two prior to yesterday being against players outside the top 200, and the one yesterday including a 1-6 set against the world number 119 who has never won a tour match - Ramos-Vinolas must have a decent shot at the upset, even with Ramos-Vinolas now being 36 years old.

This tournament is the last chance for Carlos to prove he is not a declined player.

The game is always evolving and if other players see the blood in the Alcaraz game they will pounce without mercy.

Still, i have hope in Charles and believe he can still peak once again and win this tournament.

So is there a Covid outbreak in Rio or what? This is COVID era tennis. Why is no one there?

Weird match and feel.

The Wawrinka match has a full house by the looks of it
There they are. Apparently was because it was raining all day and the umpire wanted to make sure the rain had stopped completely before allowing spectators back in.

Fun watch so far btw. Loving Sky Sports coverage of this tournament. Diaz Acosta has real game, that title was no fluke. Bit of a meltdown from Wawrinka here though. 5-3 to 5-6.

For me, Diaz Acosta’s success is dependent on the FHDTL, which is a difficult shot to get right. But when it is right, he’s a threat.

Hate seeing players give up. And Stan has done that here. He got to 5-2, and now has lost 8 straight games, with distinct chance of more.

I really don't enjoy clay court tennis. No names who have no game on grass or hard can win matches. Stan has no plan B. Chip and charge, SABR, do something. He ain't gonna beat this guy from 10 feet behind the baseline.

Stan still shows the magic at times but the sting is lost with the errors. He was up 5-3 in the 1st set and got broken when serving for the set. He made up ground to keep in touch in the 2nd set but couldn't convert his chances. Excellent stuff from FDA, to consolidate his run of straight sets wins since Buenos Aires - but he was let off the hook a tad at times by an opponent 15 years his senior.

Crikey! Carlos has taken a tumble and has needed to stop and sit down! I hope he's okay.
