So out of nowhere, FAA went from losing every other match to on the verge of winning Basel. Hasn't done anything since fall season of last year and here he is on the verge of completely righting the ship.

Wow, didn't see this coming. Congrats to FAA to find his form out of nowhere and defend his Basel title. Good to see him back playing well.

Chuffed for Felix - gave the terrorbot's second serve no respect in either of the tiebreaks. This puts him up to 29th in the race so he's on for at least a seed at the Australian Open now. Hopefully he can rescue a bit more of his year in Paris.

Fontang looking like a proud dad. Hubi looked exhausted the whole match, but he is so gracious in his runner-up speech as always, remembering to thank his fam and the people backstage.

What’s nice to see is Felix coming up with some sort of return game. Plenty of pressure on HH’s serve, though he was Fed-like in his conversion rate. Still, clearly better than HH in that regard. Glad he came through!!!

FAA mentioned in his speech that this was probably the most important title of his career so far. That's a bit sad, in fact, the whole atmosphere seemed a bit muted for a player making a successful return to the winner's circle.

But it's good to see him there, nonetheless.

Excellent to see Felix playing well and with conviction again. It must feel so good to find momentum again and defend his title. Will this propel him into maintaining consistency?

HH seems a likeable chap, but I don't enjoy his game. This does not deter from acknowledging his improved form of recent. He did well to make the final.

Very nice. Kudos, Felix. Just a huge mental boost. In the relatively short time of Felix's tumble, things have changed a lot - the previous roadblocks are still around and there's been the emergence (or increased emergence) of different players. I don't know where FAA's career goes from here. But to have a chance for to go in a positive, sustainable direction, this was huge.

5th ATP title for Felix and 3rd at ATP500 level. His 1st title this season and 1st title defence having won Basel last year too.

Taylor Fritz has withdrawn due to an oblique issue, so the #8 position for Turin is basically now between Holger and Hubi.

Edit: oops, wrong forum.
