You may or may not be correct about the reason ... I was simply pointing out the fact of the disparity to those who grouse in the cases where there is equity ......

BTW, did you see Brisbane? How the place was packed for the women's matches? Sooooo ... did the women make as much as the men at Brisbane?

Let me be clear LG. The prizemeoney at a given event is a factor of the revenue the tournament generates. Where that event is mixture of mens and womens tennis then the prizemoney should be the same. If Brisbane WTA event generates the same or > revenue than Bribane ATP and all other things were equal (cost base), yet the women got < prizemoney then something would be very wrong.

I hope that clears things up.

Cheers.

Nalbandian is the class of this field, no doubt about it. His first two matches could well be his hardest. If he does win this tournament, he'll be an interesting one to watch in Melbourne

I'm looking forward to this one ...... hope there w/b a stream somewhere...

This may be a bit off base, if so I apologize. But...how the heck is Chuidinelli #56? I don't remember him doing anything of note...and I pay pretty close attention. Could someone fill me in on his 2009 season. Again...not trying to attack or bash..well on him for being so high.

Robredo's in hot form right now, Ferrer is amped up from his wins at the Davis Cup and Abu Dhabi, and Nalbandian is itching to make his comeback

Looks like the title is pretty open, now

I'll tip the top seed as the favorite, judging his performance in Paris vs. Nadal and his wins over Hewitt, Isner, Hanescu, and Murray in the Hopman Cup.

He went on a great run starting at the US Open.....:)

19 year old Brit Dan Evans has qualified for the Auckland main draw - the first time the world number 262 has qualified for an ATP event.

About the John Isner vs. Guillermo Garcia Lopez match: I wish I felt better about Isner, but after comparing his play last week with that of Garcia Lopez in winning the doubles with Montanes, I gotta give the edge to Garcia Lopez, because Isner seemed to be just going through the motions! :(

Zeballos is sure a latecomer

It does seem really strange that, even tho Monaco turned pro in 2002 and Zeballos turned pro in 2003, these two have never played each other before officially ....obviously, being both from Argentina, you'd expect they'd played each other UNofficially .... don't know .... maybe zeballos has some injury issues??? He's another one of those players who's inside the top 50, yet I don't really remember seeing him play before ...... that w/b remedied today! :)

Is anyone watching Montanes/Lemke?

I'm looking at the live scores and there have been 4 breaks in the second set already, 3-3

I dont know if any courts other than the center court are being shown for this match. Montanes is currently 6-1, 6-5

That really sucks about Nalbandian. I should have put Thomaz Bellucci in the poll, he's playing brilliantly. That guy will go top ten.

Just joined!

Isner's up 3-1 in the third set (they share one each). He looks so huge compared to Lopez...LOL

You know, while they're on break...I gotta say, I love coming home and tuning into www.livescorehunter.com and seeing what the matches are for the rest of the day all over the world. I love that site. :)

4-6, 7-6, 6-2 Isner takes it, going out with a final ace (he had 12, I think).
