  • Once again congrats to kishnabe for his win!
  • aphex will remain number one until the end of Miami Masters as he has enough of a lead. That will make his reign at number one for at least 21 straight weeks. The second longest streak so far.
  • Thanks to Jay for running Head to Head! A special thanks to NYK for his help when I just couldn't stay up.
  • Most of all, thanks everyone for playing!
  • See you all in Indian Wells! I'll start that thread three or so weeks before the start of the event so we can hammer out the Head to Head rules/changes!

He didn't like how the game was influencing his watching of tennis. Understandable. For me, it makes some of the less attractive matches mean something.

CHAMPIONSHIPS AND 3RD PLACE - FINAL RESULTS

wrl4ch.jpg

Congratulations goes out to our first ever Australian Open Champions Li Ching Yuen and lonux! You guys had to take the long road to the championships by going through qualifying rounds, but you guys did it. What an amazing tournament for you guys.

Wonderful job by kishnabe and Telepatic for repeating your run at the Paris Masters event last season. You guys are definitely a team to watch out for in the future events. Well done on your runner-up finish.

Congrats goes out to NYKings and seffina for your 2nd consecutive top 3 finish at the Grand Slam events. Props goes out to the co-#1s mtr1 and Stefan83 for finishing a very respectable 4th place.

2011 RANKINGS AND RACE - AFTER THE AUSTRALIAN OPEN

er0di1.jpg

I'm not going to talk about the race. Obviously, wherever you and your team finished is where you're ranked in the race.

In terms of the individual rankings, co-#1s mtr1 and Stefan83 has extended their lead over #3 Augustus by almost 1,600 points. NYKings is now closing in on the #3 ranking. By finishing in 3rd place, seffina has jumped from outside the top 10 to #6. aphex now moves into sole possession of #7, while I remain at #8. bezs and Boozyuzi drops from #6 to #9, while kpxjam9 drops out of the top 10 (sorry man!).

As a result of their Aussie Open title, Li Ching Yuen and lonux have moved into the top 20 at 15 and 20 respectively. kishnabe and Telepatic moves up to 19 and 17 respectively.

To see the rest of the rankings, you can copy my signature and it'll direct you to the link H2H league file.

Thanks to everyone for being patient with me over the last 2 weeks for getting the results out.

Special thanks goes out to seffina for helping me with H2H whenever possible. Thanks for NYKings for also helping out that one day.

Congrats to kishnabe for winning singles and to rainingaces for winning in 2nd place (so close to winning both PPL and TPL).

See you all at the Indian Wells event!

Third place, not bad. The next tournament is the French Open, right? Either way, I'm definitely down for playing again...

What's the longest one?

aphex, you can get the league file. seffina has a statistic in there that tells you the number of weeks each player has spent as #1.

Doubles, the prediction league schedule consists of all 4 grand slams + 9 masters series events + queen's club + halle + world tour finals.

Our next event will be the Indian Wells Masters event. Look for the thread to be created some time in late February.

Hope you'll join us then :D

Aphex you need to conistently surpass Seffina which is hard, if you want that record!

I assume you mean within a one year period? It's a little difficult to calculate because we had used a different points system for a while. It did get standardized, but the old threads don't tell much b/c of it. shadows at one point had won three Masters and one slam and placed second a few times, so I'm guessing it is probably him if the system had been standard? We didn't do Paris Masters the first year. And we started with Miami... so it's a little hard to calculate. Of course at that time, there was far less competition as well. And last year's special Elite Eight competition also bumps up the overall scores that the previous year didn't have. So this is a long answer as to why I don't have that stat.

We didn't keep percentages until Wimbledon 09 either. But the highest percentage in a tourny since we've kept them is mtr1's at the Monte Carlo Masters... bezs had higher at WTF (only missed one match), but that's only 15 matches. The best in a slam is dcdoorknob at last year's French Open. Not one of these folks won their respective tournys. :p

Percentage is better than scores because we had the 2/5 scoring breakdown until Canada 09. We also didn't pick winner/rup until Rome 2009. The finalist getting 2 and right order getting 3 more didn't come into effect until Monte Carlo 2010.

kishnabe, aphex should pass me easily in the overall rankings if he keeps it up. I've been anything but consistent lately and I've participated in every single tournament while the only one who's close to me in number of tournys is jamesblakefan#1 who joined up after the first two. I think I posted the number of tournys at the end of year stats... I'll dig it up again at some point.

Thanks Seff for the detailed answer...

Since the format is pretty much standardized by now, maybe you could consider adding this stat...sounds cool...

Prediction League, Season 27, people debating if Seffina's peak was higher than Jbf's:)

We can do it now. When we finished the Elite Eight last year, it was the first time we had played all the events we planned on playing. So far you're the highest when playing a full league schedule.

If I get the time and motivation between now and IW, I'll make a different rankings thing charting the average finish overall, slams, masters, clay, grass, hc, etc.

seffina

G.O.A.T.
seffina was #1 in a weak era, how else do you explain reaching #1 without a slam.

:p
It's even more pathetic than that since I've not even won a Masters. :( Guess it's a good thing I'm not afraid of failure!

Out of the seven players that have reached the number one spot, three have not won a slam. They're hard to come by and aren't worth quite as much as they're in the real ATP.

I should concentrate on the first two rounds as usual :-/
after that I think I had the best results. not the first time this happened.

thank you @ double for teaming up, I'd be glad to play again, next time with a little more points in the first rounds I hope :)
