It's easy to have no unforced errors vs Karlovic, because Karlovic ends the points quickly, so with the lack of long rallies you don't have the opportunity to shank a ball the way Federer does usually. Karlovic is one of the only guys who can shorten the point enough to avoid Federer's shanks (unfortunately for Karlovic).

Undoubtedly, Tomic is the owner of the future (except for on clay where Nadal will rule). I don't even know if Raonic will go anywhere. All you have to do is stay back and retrieve, and Raonic gives the unforced error.
Don't judge Raonic by what you're seeing tonight. He's not playing nearly as well as he usually does. His forehand is normally a lethal weapon.

i suppose raonic would make for a better match with djokovic. fighting spirit wont get hewitt anywhere when novak just blasts him away in the baseline rallies. raonic might at least be able to stay on serve for a while

You are so amusing. As if it's that hard to pass an ageing S&V player on courts this slow..

We could equally say your beloved Federer had to pass an ageing 32 year old server with zero game but we don't say that because we know it's not as easy as that.
Llodra was a very tough opponent for Murray in the first two sets which is why I know you didn't watch.

Hypothetically, if you could ask any player on tour if he'd want to play Llodra or Karlovic, what do you think their answer would be? Thank you for playing, next time better.

Your game is null and void because you didn't watch the match.
Thanks for not playing.
Next time, please attend.

Why would I watch Murray when Serena is playing and the weather is good?

I am sure you will say Llodra played the match of his life and only the steadfast determination of the amazingly talented Scotsman prevented an upset.

To this I will say, Llodra is not a factor, he is one of the weakest players in this stage of the tournament. And this US vs YOU (fan groups) thing is so juvenile, I am having no part of it. So who I support and appreciate has no bearing in my view of Murray's performance and chances.

You mentioned twice I didn't watch the match, so I have to ask, is there any reason you think I said I had watched it or an opinion I have offered on the way Murray played? The siege mentality is blocking out the facts, you're desperate to see offence.

If I were a WUM you would have slit your veins by now.

Hewitt played well, and served brilliantly, but it was not impressive when Hewitt netted short balls in that tie-breaker. Luckily Raonic missed the high ball on set point.

Oh Russel, Russel, Russel. What are we going to do with you?
You are certainly making judgements from your quotes above about a match you did not watch!

You quoted his winners. I read he was passing him on BBC the live text commentary (and said so). Your point is?

The point is you're making negative comments about players in a match you didn't watch.
If you don't trust my opinion then why don't you ask All-rounder?
He was actually at Murray's matches in Brisbane and he also saw todays match against Llodra.
Ask what he thinks of the players.

This is the first rain-free Australian Open I can recall. No rain in week one and no rain forecast for week 2. And all hot in week 2.

Who is favoured by hot weather when it's a night session in terms of Murray-Novak and Nadal-Federer. What does a hot day do to the courts at night? Quicker? Slower? Higher bounce? Lower bounce? Movement through the air?

Oops, seems like his instincts got the better of him on that one; Annacone must have told him to keep that shot a secret until the semis.

Tru dat.

All playing perfectly into Djokovic's hands.
Was there ever an easier stroll to the semis?

Nadal AO 2008? One of the easiest draws at the AO ever. Until the SF.

Really disappointed with Raonic. Hewitt is gonna get crushed next..

Hewitt is no Mahut. Also I think Raonic would have had no chance against Djokovic. Raonic's serve would be neutralized by Djokovic. At least Hewitt doesn't rely on his serve to win. Only a great baseliner can beat Djokovic.

Wow this Nadal/Lopez match.....so far, Lopez has no prayer to even win a set. And Nadal is playing angry. I think Nadal is pushing himself extra hard to win every point because he doesn't want to fall into the trap of giving his best friend mercy.

Is everyone glued to the classic Nadal - Lopez match at the moment? I was expecting more comments on other matches here. How did the overrated Forget/Laconte beat Kafelnikov in doubles lol? Ferreira must have really sucked in that one. And what's going on with Temur Ismailov - has he beaten Mackenzie McDonald yet? Too many matches to keep track of these days.

Anyone think that Delpo might take out Fed? The Big guy is playing well and rounding into form at the right time.

Who knows..it could be a Djokovic vs Del Potro final :)

i just saw in the juniors girls draw there is a girl named sharipova haha
that holds potential for some great confusion in a few years

well its all pretty much falling in place for him today. kohlschreiber is not that far off in terms of quality here hes just losing all the deciding points early in the sets so thats just a picture perfect match progression for delpo.

and also youve got to just say kohli still needs to work on that FH if he ever wants to play with the big boys. gotta love how he goes full nelson with it and just barely anything noteworthy comes out oO

but i agree delpo has looked incredibly sharp all the way through except for the 1st round
