Djokoer will be aggressor unlike his previous match VS. Wawa.

He'll attack. Murray is known defender compared to Djoko. So Match is on Djoko's racquet.

King Djoko in 4.

I hate to say this but i think murray has a solid chance to win base on the way Stan challenged Novak. Novak cant play like he did early on and expect to win vs murray. I think Novak has the fitness and tools to win but he will need to return better as I have seem murray improve his serve, especially down the T. I predicted Novak in 4 but I think its a toss up right now. I am looking forward to this match.

So? look at djokovics sf performance at Wimbledon last year and then compare to the final. sunday is a new day. Even nole has to win ugly sometimes

Yeah, that's true but Novak has won all four finals he's played at the AO. Surely the law of averages says he has to lose one at some point? :?

You're one of the three great Murray fans on this forum I'll think of with a smile on my face if Andy does win on Sunday. Hope you enjoy the match!
Haha thanks. I'll be happy whoever wins as I like Djokovic as well, in fact I like all the big 4.

Whoever does I think we are going to be treated to some world class Tennis on Sunday :)

Hope you enjoy it to!

No it doesn't. Federer won 5 Wimbledon finals in a row and nadal has won 9 FO finals in a row. So why cant djokovic win this final again?

Yeah but let's face it - Novak, as great as he is, isn't in the same league as Fedal. Those two guys are the personification of BIG match players. Novak? Not so much unfortunately.

All I know is that its rare for a player to play 7 matches without having a bad one. He should be fine for the final

Tell me about it. It's my birthday tomorrow so my family will be staying over which means I'll have to pre-record the match and watch it later on in the day when they've all done one lol. Watching slam finals is just too stressful around other people! :)

Many happy returns of the day ! Hope you get a nice birthday present.

I'll be rooting for Murray. Hope he get some reward for all his efforts to recover from back surgery last 1 year or so...

When I saw the draw at the start of the tournament I picked Djokovic to win but I think I am going to go with Murray winning this one. Murray looks like he is on some kind of mission and out to prove people wrong.

Murray in four or five.

Murray has been opening doors and closing them better so far, Murray in 4

Nole's got no chance of winning RG with Nadal around vero so I think many of us have just accepted it now and prefer to focus on the other majors instead.

Negative. Nole will win the CYGS and leapfrog Nadal in greatness.

Never say never. If Nadal has a lapse (like 2009), Djoko will have to be ready to take advantage like Fed did before. So he should always approach the tournament with a positive mentality and the belief he can go all the way (and not be solely focused on Nadal).

No I definitely think novak can win RG this year. Its just he hasn't won two slams in a row for awhile.
The only player who routinely won more than 1 slam a season is Fed (and secondarily Sampras). Otherwise, it's pretty standard to have seasons of winning just 1 slam (or even no slam). Nadal for instance had a lot of seasons (most) of winning just 1 slam. He did multiple for 3 seasons out of 10 (2008, 2010 and 2013). It is quite possible Djoko will have another season with more than 1.
When everything is said and done anyway, the only thing that matters is total #
The fact that Djoko had only 1 season with multiple slams is sort of compensated by the fact that 1 season was the 2nd best of open era (after Fed's 2006).

If novak does actually win the CYGS(extremely unlikely) could you actually make an argument for him against nadal?

Yes. You definitely could.

It would guarantee him yet another year as the YE world #1 and he'd have 11 Majors including all 4 Majors and obviously the CYGS. Djokovic would be trying to hunt down GOAT status if he achieved the impossible. The buzz and furore would be unreal.

So, he'd have 3 less Majors than Nadal but will have won many more YEC's, probably by that stage be close in Masters 1000s, and have been ranked world #1 for longer and ended more years as the #1.

Nadal would still have his great share of records and accolades but Nole would have a clear argument.

And Mustard, MN and several other Nadal fans/trolls would be placed on suicide watch.

I'm a fan of 'history and legacy' so I wouldn't mind seeing it happen. Nole is the best candidate right now. Dare to dream.

I'd settle for this:

Novak Djokovic wins the first 3 Slams, heads to Flushing Meadows gunning for the Slam but is halted by Roger Federer in a 5 set final that goes to the tie-break - Roger's last ever Slam and another demonstration of historical defiance.

Would you?

They would be just be experiencing a tiny piece of your regular day to day life then.

Living up to your username!

You posted to me after set 4 that the CYGS was out of reach. Did the bagel change your mind that much???

Nah. Annoyingly I didn't see the 5th set - I had problems here.

I'm not even sure Djokovic will win the AO final. Based on form I think Murray has the edge, but believe that Djokovic will turn up in a much less inhibited form in the final and be the omnipotence. So, I'm see-sawing.

Always take what I say with a pinch of salt. I'm the hype machine and the devil's advocate.

Do I believe it's possible? Honestly, yes.

Weather.com predicts a 60% chance of rain on Sunday...not sure when they're expecting the wet but if it lingers into the night they will close the roof.
Don't expect an answer soon. All serious viewers are napping now. ;)

Seriously, I wonder how many people here are in the US Eastern Standard Zone. The AO is a serious problem for me. They don't start until 3:30 AM, and about 15 minutes of that is warm-up.

Serious problem for those of us who need sleep.

I go through this every year but somehow survive. I sleep in shifts...a little before the featured night match and a little after it. It helps I don't start work until afternoons.

Can't wait for Murray's WTA level second serve getting exposed by King Djoko.

BTW Murray leads Noel 63-61!

This is Phucking unbelievable!

This is pretty much a toss up. My gut feeling is 55-45 Murray winning, but it really could go either way. I do think Murray is definitely playing the better tennis at this event. Djokovic barely got past a pretty crappy Wawrinka. However Djokovic's legendary mental strength which is amongst the best in history, could pull him through.

Doh!

I thought people would talk about the poll in percentages. That's what I get for bamming up early on a Saturday morning.

Hoots mon and all that but I think this is an English-speaking forum, batz!

It's a braw bricht nicht the licht etc. etc.
