Sure to be loud support from the stands for the Cypriot evergreen. Drama always seems to find him. Can he upset his seeded opponent and book a place in the 4th round to potentially face Andy Murray?

Is 2015 the year when Grigor Dimitrov finally fulfills his potential? He will have to overcome a player who, when firing on all cylinders, can tussle with the best of them.

Who's your pick?

Yeah this one is going to be one to watch I think. The Cypriot in me will be cheering for Baghdatis.

Seeing as how Baggy has Lebanese parents and I'm from Lebanon, I hope Baghdatis in 4 or 5! Either way should be a great match with lots of good shotmaking

If Baggy plays well, could be an entertaining match. Hard to believe it's 9 years since he made the final here

Lebanon? I thought his family background was from Iraq, as "Baghdatis" appears to indicate 'from Baghdad'?

Agassi commented as such in his biography, and also gave it as an explanation why Baggy - Iraqi - and himself - Iranian - got along pretty well.
Gives some kind of hope for humanity imho! :D

The fact that Marcos rebounded from his typical up-and-down style of play in his opener to effectively stomp Goffin (who I was hoping would get a rematch with Grigor) tells me he's in at least decent form.

If he doesn't disappear for more than a set, I see him winning this. The more common Marcos of the last 7 or so years, however, will bet straight setted by Grigor

Yeah, will be Dimitrov in straights unfortunately even though I'm rooting for Bagh :(

I hope when Bagh decided to retire one day, he smashes as many racquets as he can, I remember in one match he kept hammering racquets for the fun

He smashed 4 in a row. It was hilarious.

THAT WAS THE ONE!

He does it in style as well, when others smash it they get scared or lose control, this guy just pastes it on the floor

This should be good. :D Dimitrov hasn't been in sizzling form and if Baghdatis plays well it could be competitive.

Bagh didy bagh de bagh Diddy bag Bagh!!!!

I'm all in... thing is last time I went Baghspazz was his match with Cilic at the uso and we all know how Cilic did there.

It can't possibly happen again and if it does Dimitrov will owe me a heaping plate of crow. ... I don't dislike dimi I just want Bhagat to put on one last school'n session.

Going for the boring option: Grigor in four: Should be more steady and fitter than Baggy, and will impose his game.

Being a Londoner with Cypriot parents I hope Baghdatis has a good few lamb shish kebabs beforehand and destroys Dimitrov. He will rise to the occasion and play better than people think. But unfortunately I believe Dimitrov will win in 5 sets. Last set victorious by 2 breaks - 6-2.

Lol, he wasn't that good mate.
But current Dimi is? Show me a tournament of Dimi's where he's been close to beat comparable players (3 top-8 players + took a set of 2006 Fed) to this list:

Dimitrov in 3 maximum 4 Baggy had a decent run in 2006 but now is nothing more than a mediocre journeyman would be very disappointing if Dimitrov did not progress here given his ability.

Lol, he wasn't that good mate.

He beat Roddick, Ljubicic and Nalbandian in a row...

When has Dimmi done anything like that in slams?

Perhaps you should restrict your talk to era's you're more familar with - such as the last 4 years ;)

Don't misunderstand me guys. I'm not saying Dimi's peak is better than Baghdatis' or that he's a much better player, it's just that NatF was saying that Marcos would "lay the hurt on him" like it's peak Agassi he's talking about rather than a decent player who had one very good tournament nine years ago.

The easy answer is last year's AO. Next question.

That was a low blow mate. :(

Sorry, that was uncalled for. It was meant lightly though, honest

I was responding to a guy who had Dimitrov and GOAT side by side in his username lol. And yes I firmly believe Baghdatis in his peak form would beat current Dimitrov in 4 sets. Marcos had a lot of potential IMO. Great ball striker and mover. That match with Nalbandian in 2006 was really high quality, worth watching so many backhand DTL's.
