Australian Open 2020 QF lineup is one of the most interesting and balanced lineup in recent times

Not sure why the OP says this. Fed/Sandgren & Djokovic/Raonic are complete mismatches. I expect Stan to dismiss Zverev comfortable if he plays to his top level. The only match of real interest of course will be Rafa/Thiem which could be a 5 set epic war.

The Zverev/Wawrinka match is an interesting one because to me Zverev is difficult to line up. He's made a couple of slam 1/4's before, but by limping through against mediocre opponents. This time he's won 4 matches without dropping a set, including today's win over Rublev who from memory was coming off consecutive tournament wins and a long match winning sequence. Hard to tell which Zverev we'll get: the whiny child putting more energy into smashing racquets than the match itself, or a guy who's grown up and ready to compete.

I don't know, man. Zverev has done a bit better than usual at this Slam. We could be looking at a close match here.

I'm expecting an interesting matchup in the Stan/Zverev matchup. it won't be as easy as you're saying it. in fact I see it as 50/50.
and even though Djokovic is the favourite against Raonic, we just might be surprised at the outcome of the match.
we don't know what to expect in the Fed/Sangdren matchup especially if Fed plays below par.

Semis are going to be great regardless of result since fed/djokovic look certain and other half all players would make for a great semi.

Federer
Nadal
Djokovic
Wawrinka
Thiem
Zverev
Tennys
Raonic
dude, were are the wings?

Stan has not been the same after his knee injury at Wimbledon 2017. And Zverev has won all his matches against Wawrinka. The match is 50/50.
Well Medvedev was 2-0 against Wawrinka before the match today.. including beating him in the US open in 4 sets.. I think Wawrinka at top level can beat anyone except the Big 3 in Grass.. and obviously excep Rafa on clay/RG

I was gonna ask if everyone thinks Stan could win the title. We all know he can beat every remaining player on a given day, but he's got to beat a couple top guys back to back. Even Zverev isn't aguaranteed win.

When was last time he beat Federer at HC???

Stan-Zverev shall be a classic, methinks.

The Bull shall dispatch Thiem in 4.

Federer wins, Tennys loses ;)

And of course Novak Djokovic shall grind out yet another snooze fest of a victory.

So be it.

the first match currently ongoing shows I was correct.
the Fed/Sandgren match is showing to be interesting and balanced rather than being a mismatch

doesn't the Fed/Sangren match already show I'm correct in calling the matchups interesting and balanced

I expect Zverev to dismiss Wawrinka comfortably.

only Djokovic/Raonic looked like a mismatch
Zverev won just like I predicted and it was an interesting match.
Fed/Sandgren was also very interesting and ended in 5 rather than being a mismatch like I predicted
