Djokovic looks alright from the baseline actually. Movement is ever so slightly slower - some of those passing shots that went just wide used to drop on the line back in the day

The movement to defend the forehand is crazy slow.

It reminds me of when Federer started missing wide forehands on the run which he used to make easily, but times 10.

Djokovic’s first serve percentage will be the biggest individual factor in this match imo. He’s just impossible to break when it’s working, but once the point is neutral, not the same story.

Honestly i feel that if Carlos loses against this Djokovic today It Will be a very bad look, he arrived very nervous to the court, and not very settled in night conditions It seems, also being quarters both players dont seem super dialed in either, too early for both maybe, specially being the beginning of the season, now i will shut Up and watch the match

If Alcaraz wins here, he will join Federer and Safin as the only players to beat Djokovic at his two best slams.

Nadal failed at AO, Murray failed at AO, Wawrinka failed at W, Berdych failed at AO, Tsonga failed at W, Sinner failed at W.

You can't blame bad luck in a best of 5, unless the match is super tight. And honestly both players are giving each other gifts, luck isn't much of a factor they can blame here.

Sinner is still in with a great chance, as long as Novak makes it to the later rounds of W.

Wide balls to the forehand are basically free points for Alcaraz right now. We will definitely see many of those today.

Killer droppers by Carl, old age is catching up with Egg.

Seems like Alcaraz can overpower Djokovic with the forehand when under pressure. Not many can do that. He does make a lot of errors still. He's not quite zoned in yet, but I think will be by the second set. Djokovic has lost a step though, especially when reaching for droppers.

Alcaraz is actually on the front foot for most of these rallies. He looks stronger.

What a sick point 15-30.
