ATP H2H: 6-3 for Meddy (all at HC)

Their 10th anniversary match and first at a Grand Slam. While Jannik lost only one set on the way to the final, Meddy had to go through 3 five-set matches. Although Meddy leads in H2H, Jannik has won the last three mutual matches and I take him as the favorite. For Jannik, it is the first Grand Slam final, for Meddy the sixth and the first where he will not play with Djokodal.

Maybe i would prefer It to be med as sinner has more time tought, and he has been to many finals already, he deserves a second grand slam, its gonna be awfully difficult tought, hes played so many long matches and sinner is in the best form of the circuit

Medvedev has played 3 five setters, two of which were his last 2 matches. Against a fresh and in form Sinner, he isn’t going to get the opportunities on tired legs that he has had up to now against opponents who aren’t in Sinner’s league.

Jannik has to be the big favourite here.

Med has come back from 2 matches down 0-2

Med has played 3 five setters and around 21 hrs in first 6 matches.

Even if med was super fit I would go 55/45 sinner. But right now I have to go with Sinner as overwhelming favorite. He has almost 7 hrs or so less than Medvedev.

Would be terrible for the sport if Sinner can’t build on the Djokovic win and put Med away comprehensively here. The thought of Med as a two time slam winner actually sickens me, especially given the mediocre level he’s performed at right the way through this event.
Yeah Sinner winning should have more promise for the future but the reaction here will just be funny if Med wins.

I think Meddy in 3.
Sinner has made huge strides the last six months. It's a lot - 3 wins vs Djokovic, 1 at a slam; Masters title; WTF final; now 1st slam final.
That's huge.
So, I think his learning curve is steep but not so much he's going to now win a slam. He's never reached a slam final and Meddy has been there many times. I think Sinner will go down in straights but he'll win his next Major final.

Medvedev looking to right the ship against Sinner. Should be an interesting match. At least 4 sets. I think Sinner has played better at this AO.

My predictions this tournament have been absolutely terrible so I really hope I haven’t jinxed Sinner here. Should have probably abstained from the vote. Surely he can see this one through now though. He literally couldn’t have wished for a more favourable scenario going into his first slam final.

I think you are underestimating the fact that Jannik has won the last three mutual matches, he knows what works for Meddy. The final is on Jannik's racket.

Medvedev is the worst possible matchup for Sinner.
Before the fall of last season yes, but not now, Jannik already knows what works for Meddy. Anyway, it doesn't matter, Meddy had to go to five sets in the last two matches, and that will be a sign of his performance in the final.

I give a slight edge to Sinner because he has been playing better throughout the tournament but Medvedev has Grand Slam final experience and Jannik doesn't have any until now. Obviously Medvedev is a fighter as it really looked like Zverev was going to be the other finalist and Med clawed his way back. So just a slight edge - ought to be an interesting final!
