I am watching Berdych-Ginepri and Roddick-Rehnquist.
I suscribed to the Eurosport Player for 5 euros (access to 5 courts) but I'm not sure if it's available outside Europe or even in certain european countries.

Anyone else watching on ESPN notice how much real estate the new scoreline covers? I can barely see the player in the near-court. It's really bugging me.
 
for those watching an espn feed, what do you guys think of the new scoreboard?

I'm watching on tsn here in Canada and tsn really needs to kill the ticker! With the scoreboard and the ticker taking up space at the bottom of the screen, the player in the near court has half of his body cut off by the scoreboard!

Here in the US DirecTV has The Mix - so I'm watching Berdych - Ginepri.

Berdych just consolidated his break to go up 4-2. Ginepri is starting to spray errors...

Ana always looks hottest at AO in my opinion I think the blazing sun shining down on her cute body makes her so attractive. The court color also contrasts well with her for some reason :|.
 
I like the new scoring display by ESPN. This match is one of those matches that Roddick can use to work his way into the tournament, although he won't get much from it. :?

i'm with you guys. why does espn continue to fiddle around with the damned scoreboard. didn't they start last year, as if there was anything wrong with having it in the corner like it has been for the longest, a sort of pint-sized version of every scoreboard at every tourney. if it aint' broke . . .

20 bucks says by the end of the year, they will go all fox sports style and have every change in score accompanied by a loud sound effect. SWOOSH!
 
The swede has nothing to hurt Roddick, a weak topspin forehand, a decent two handed backhand but with no power on it and an average serve. 4-0 Roddick.
Good start for Ferrer, 5-1 against Gremelmayr.

Yup it's on tsn 2! Just got it today in the sports package on shaw. There's 10 hours of coverage slated for today on it so I'm pretty excited!

Is it just me or does it seem like the ball is kicking up higher this year? Maybe it's because both players are playing with a lot of margin on their shots right now.
 
Roddicks opponent is going to have a hell of a day today. He can't hurt Roddick. Wish ESPN 2 would switch over to a different mens match for a little bit

i know, even pmac intimated that it would be flattery to call him a "journeyman" since he's barely been on the radar his entire career. but i guess we will have to sit through the whole match anyway.

the steelers owning the ravens so far. i guess that's good for all those steeler fans freezing their butts off out there.

There was nothing wrong with the way it was before the change. The were no issues with the traditional way, IMO. Seems to me like ESPN just changed it just for the sake of it.

With this new change, I hate how when during break points, they hide the number of games won.

Why did Hewitt get a Raw deal ?? He has to play Gonzo in the 1st round ?? i thought aussie tennis federation liked Hewitt...

word. i mean, people all over the world can read the scoreboards at tourneys. but i guess that's not good enough for the wiz kids at espn.
 
American Robby Kendrick took the first set from Swede Robin Soderling 7-5.

American Isner lost first set to Slovakian Hrbaty 7-5

I don't know if it's available in your zone but Eurosport.com, bet365.com and betfair.com offer live stream of 5 different courts and it's really cheap.
 
Hey guys what else can you guys tell me about Samuel Groth? Heard this guy is a big kid and can serve the lights off the ball? Whats the rest of his game like? Is he a baseliner with a mix of S&V?
