Have to say i'm a bit impressed by Zverev being able to win that first set despite some shaky moments but after the set point it looked like he thought he'd won the match..

Great first set between Zverev and Medvedev!

51 shots rally ( and a 40 one, during the same 6-5 game. 6 rallies over 20 shots in total), coming to the net etc.

And Nick Kyrgios is a great commentator ( on Eurosport), better than Johnny McEnroe( on ESPN): technical insights, not platitudes.

TBH it was a long a gruelling game which ended up winning him a set. I understand it

Whoever doesn't like it is free to go back and rewatch the famous final from decades back where 183/184 points or something ended in below 5 shots (while obviously 184/184 were stunning).

I never liked Zverev, but I have to admit that he doesn't celebrate with excessive fist pumping or arrogant gestures these days, and therefore he's much easier to watch.

For me other players now have easily overtaken him in that regard. Especially Alcaraz brought the fist pumping and racquet waving to a level where it actually loses any real meaning. It simply means he has won a point.

Quite calm and composed on court but from what we've heard from multiple ex girlfriends, he's not so much off the court :(

Medvedev hasn't served below 50% on 1st serves since his 2022 Cincy match with Tsitsipas. IDK what's wrong with Meddy's serves today.

Zverev doing so well this year has been surprisingly refreshing, he's playing so well! Could this finally be his time?
