Genuinely stunned here. Zero break points for Djoker?? What the ****?

As a Murray fan, I sympathise with Djoker fans here as I know the feeling of watching your guy going out like he doesn’t give a **** and has 0 fire in him
I blame it on the davis cup loss, which certainly played a mind game on Djokovic. At this stage of his career, he should reduce the unnecessary encounters with other players, the more he played on tour the more his decline will be exposed, others will have more confidence playing him, no more guess work on court, just play their own game and beat him.

Honestly Djokovic was poor the entire tournament. His backboard consistent play was gone and he was donating a ton of errors. Losing sets to bums like Prizmic, Popyrin and Fritz is totally uncharacteristic. I think this is the first year we will see a significant decline in his play.

You cannot be serious. There was no way Djokovic was winning four more AO. That would mean he would have won like 8 times in a row there going back to 2019.
it is remote but when u see who are the players at the tour except sinner and carlos (out of form for a long long time)...... it looks they are just to make up the draws and give djoker warm up matches

One good thing is that at least now some Djokovic fans will have to stop saying that Djokovic making sure to lose early when out of form and never losing in AO semifinal or final makes him a better player there than Nadal in RG. (not that Nadal ever lost in RG semifinal, we know what tournament it was in 2021...)
Why are you spitting on Djoker fans after their hero lost?

Not cool man; not cool.

But Djokovic himself gets older each year, and younger players are always coming. Looking at the challenge he faced in the 1st round.

Djokovic was never winning 14, it shouldn't have been a question. For him it is about winning any slam at this stage, his aim is to hold the slam record.

Well, well - Sinner did it, congrats! A largely subterranean Djokovic with 54 UEs and he couldn´t return most of the serves out wide. Anyhow, dear Sinner boy, we have come this far - let´s complete this fantastic journey with a victory in the final!

Just opened courtvision and Sinner's and Djokovic's patterns are almost identical. Once again those strange similarities keep cropping up.

Agree. He has done this before, too.

He made the same mistake fooling around playing mixed double events at OG in 2021.

He was there to do one thing, win Olympic Singles Gold. He created extra distractions and not only damaged that event but the Olympic Games in turn fried him mentally and affected his Grand Slam campaign that year.

Djoker is far from done. His last 5 slam events have been win, win, runner up, win, final 4. That's still a 60% win rate with 5 straight semis.

Now granted, I don't expect Djoker to continue his 60% slam win rate(he's won 12 of 20 slam events he entered since 2018 Wimbledon). But I think that he can still win 30-35% for the next couple of years, despite guys like Med, Zverev, Sinner, and Alcaraz being tough roadblocks.

Congrats to Sinner for a big win. Djoker stormed back and showed why he's the greatest in that 3rd set. But Sinner didn't flinch. He's got nerves of steel. The slam final will be a different test--- no legend to face, but it's a pressure-packed final(ask Zverev about the 2020 USO final).

Olympic Games will be fun with the legend gunning for his first with lots of tough competition. Make no mistake that both Jannik and Carlos want that gold medal even more than a slam.

Djoker deserves Olympic Gold. He desperately wants it. He's got everything else, except that gold medal.

Good call. I can't wait for that tourney. That will be quite interesting. And it's likely Djoker's last real shot at that title.

Congrats to Sinner. I haven't seen a single point, but from the stats Djokovic played one of his worst slam matches in years, so I assume that apart from Sinner's game there was the usual heat or wind thing.

2nd Novak's loss in a row where he didn't hold a single BP, and 3rd against Sinner where he lost an important game from 40-0 (or 0-40). It was a long time coming with Jannik's performances in RG 2020 and Wimbledon 2022, but he finally gets it done. Massive respect, though I'd prefer one of the other 2 to win it (especially Medvedev). Sinner's the massive favourite now.

As far as Novak's concerned, on the positive side, it was the least important slam for him this season (seeing what eventual win at other events would add), so I don't mind it very much. Hopefully he'll rebound soon, but he also may take some time off seeing the last couple of months he had.

Watched the first two sets of dominance by Sinner then fell asleep. Djokovic was pressing, going for lines. Those errors weren't dumping balls into the net. Many, many were and inch or two out. I don't chalk that up to Djokovic having a bad night. I chalk it up to Sinner playing well and Djokovic feeling like he had to go big. Great job by Sinner, who stuck to the plan and finally trusted his game against Djokovic.

Djokovic looks ready to pass the torch. Tennis should be in good hands.

Make sure to be there, everyone.

Looks like that photo really did capture the moment.

However, Djoker has superglue on his hands. I don't expect the crown to be passed just yet. But it's certainly getting much tougher as these youngsters improve and mature.

He's got a slam or two left in him tops. Last year isn't happening again.

No, it will be the last tango in Paris for Rafael Nadal.

Statement win for sinner. He has set the tone for 2024.
I think this win and the manner in which he has played in the AO, he should win it as well.

The tour has nothing to offer to stop sinner right now. His time has come and Nole's time is fading super fast. It is what it is..

Congrats to Sinner what a returns he has made. I like Sinner's mentality since last year whenever i see despite he lost in slams he is quite calm and mentally there.

I thought with the experience Sinner will be mentally fine in this match. But i thought his tennis level may not be enough since he is against Djokovic in Australia.

Final match will be more difficult since Djokovic played quite bad. He shouldn't be overwhelmed but i think he will prepare well.

Sinner played well, but zombie like Djoko didn't test him for the first 2 sets. and returning was meh even afterwards.
Still to go without facing a BP for whole match is something.
Credit to Sinner for keeping it mentally together, but lets not over-rate his level at this AO.

A good thing about this week is the rise of sinner.

Djokovic and Alcaraz were very well spoken of each other and always praising other. It was like fedal kind of bromance.

Sinner doesn't have time for this bs. He is not going to fixate on Nole or alcaraz. That's very refreshing to see.
