Authors that write fiction and life that imitations it ?

1984 is a great novel not because it sold well. It is great because it predicted how leftists and statists use the power of government to stifle any dissent and humiliate political opponents by forcing them to say obvious lies(like men can get pregnant). The fascists know that they are lies too, they don't believe it as well.

Propaganda is an American invention by a relative of Sigmund Freud and it is a necessity of a "democratic society", not some prerogative of authoritarian ones:

"The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country."--Edward Bernays

Interestingly, Bernays was influenced by Walter Lippmann and France’s Gustave Le Bon, who wrote about the irrationality of crowds and how emotions can be stirred to drive behavior. Disturbingly, Goebbels studied and applied the ideas of both Le Bon and Bernays with horrifying results.

Ironic trivia regarding Surkov: His propaganda methods are heavily influenced by postmodernism, and he has said that Jackson Pollock is one of the few Americans that interests him. The U.S. promoted both strategically during the Cold War. Surkov turned the tables by weaponizing concepts from postmodernism, avant-garde theater and post-WWII art movements to undermine the concepts of objective facts, truth and reality.

Ray Bradbury’s Farenheit 451 deserves a mention as it is relevant today for its overt critique of censorship, and the subtext themes of encouraging rebellion against conformity and anti-intellectualism. Isolation, alienation, and technological dominance over humanity are also explored.

With the advent of e-readers, book burning is a thing of the past. The authorities could just cut availability, or partially censor, in the background without anyone knowing.

I like the analysis of totalitarianism, which Orwell sees as also developing in war-time Britain, something you forget.
It’s not about countries in particular Bart. We do know however that in the last century various countries practised totalitarianism and we also know which countries still practice totalitarianism, but more importantly we are also aware of countries with rising or trending totalitarianism and these countries are the ones that many westerners are concerned about:

I just took a screen shot of this book and will try to track one down to read:

The last novel that I’ve read, Andrey Kurkov’s Death and the Penguin (1996), has a subtext of alienation, disillusionment, the absurdity of the world Kurkov observed, and how media shapes reality. It’s a good read.

They are not taught via books anymore, so there is no rearguard action here, outside of elite schools.

They aren't being deleted, the young aren't reading them anymore because they're either too busy on social media. They don't have the attention span to see a video on youtube let alone read a book

I'm sure you have a crackpot theory to share.
A lot of totalitarian minded universities like to delete history and truth including banning books, knocking down statues, changing the names of places. These ideas are crackpot ideas but they are being done by totalitarians.

There’s a short 20 minute animated film called - Beyond the Reset which even has a character that looks like a Bart, where it explains what may happen in a dystopian future.
Good one to watch

There are a few incidents of this kind, but libraries de-accession books because they cost a lot to store and, more importantly, because giant multinationals sell universities on-line digital courses.

So, as usual, you have a Klaustrophobic view of things.

It’s a well known strategy used by totalitarian minded people ( ie - attempt to censor, cancel and ban books they don’t like ).
As usual the Klaus society like to hide and ban lots of things that do not align with their agenda including honest scientists. Lots of Australians don’t even know that the Digital ID bill was passed a week ago and that’s because the legacy media decided to hide it and focus on other things.
Even in the US, when there is some sneaky legislation pending the people get another dose of UFO stories - look over here while we pass a legislation at 2am that will take another piece of freedom away from you x

Sky News conformists are very good at banning and censoring people and studients if they don't like what they are protesting about.

If you are a private business that is self funded then you can express your views as you see fit but if you are an organisation that is funded by the tax payer then you owe it to the citizens that you offer all perspectives.
Sky News operates on the basis that you pay for their content and if you don’t like their content you can choose to buy content elsewhere.
These things a very different compared to elected representatives of parliament and state funded universities who seek to censor citizens or push one narrative.
If you send your child to a state school you shouldn’t have to put up with a communist style curriculum.

My point was not about Sky News but the conformists who follow their dog-whistle politics and try to ban things in the curriculum, for example, while posing as a libertarian.

With the current trend in public education I would doubt that Sky News followers and conformists set school policies and curriculums. That’s usually the board of studies that does that and those who don’t like public education politics will look for private alternatives or home schooling.
However those of us in the freedom movement - we feel we have a much happier and inspiring set of ideas to offer our individual communities.

The freedom movement aims to renovate their communities where’s the centralisers want to tear everything down into a rubble of chaos.

Your so-called "freedom movement" is happy to ban people and ideas that it doesn't like by labelling them as "communist' or some such. You even think climate science is code for communism, as you put it so clearly.

Our so called freedom movement is indeed a happy movement that doesn’t ban anybody - we even accept devil worshippers at our fun gatherings and even union leaders that send their kids to the top private schools attend , as we must not discriminate.
All those climate change measures being pushed by the globalists on to liberal democracies are totalitarian in implementation including being forced to live like slaves, be carbon tracked and eat z bugs. How dare you people impose these things. We will be free and we will not comply:

I am happy to subscribe to a holistic way of thinking. @Crocodile is one of favorite thinkers.

If your movement is that happy, it must be a bowel movement.

I'm not the one proclaiming a Klaustastrophic world-takeover by the WEF in pseudo-prophetic tones.
No because you argue for it and accept it which is the sad thing to do, but we have a better and more inspiring model of living to offer the world.
Our people are enjoying this type of life - take time out and listen to this, much better isn’t it.

When are you leaving for this island, so all our lives will be free of your Klaustastrophizing?

Working on it, either coastal area that is mild most of the year and with a nice breeze or mountains where it is crisp. Lots of organic produce and natural therapies, good arts community but up and coming rather than overdone, overbuilt and expensive.

About authors who express their ideas through a fictional genre.
Oh, yes, thank you.

Why do people write and what does writing have to do with reality and the future?

All very interesting, complex and worthwhile considerations.
Somehow, it seems we got off the topic- a topic worthy of exploration.
