Auxetic Gravity and Radical

-looks like release date is next year, 2023
-provably Australian Open time frame

-i gotta say, the new radical update color scheme is MONEY/NICE, it will appeal to alot more fans
-the all orange was nice IMO, but this new one is a good bit better
-i am playtesting it at this time and it is a notable color change
-the old one had 2 colors ORANGE/light grey
-the new one has 3 colors, orange/grapefruit RED/deep blue
-the deep blue really pops on the orange and grapefruit.red color contrasts

-now as for the playtest:
-i am still formulating my final thoughts, but its pretty clear
-its a minor update, not a HUGHE one as we all expected (n)
-i have the old and the new rad.pros with me , so im playtesting them side by side
-imo, the new one has a slight cleaner/plush feel at impact
-the modification is on the throat/bridge area of the racket ,"where the h.rep. said it was modified", it is doing its job IMO!!
-it does seem to cancel out some of the minor vibrations, "a little"/"enough to notice"

-i dont wanna speak to much, as the playtest still continues
-more info to come in the future days!

That Gravity paint job is absolutely filthy!!! Filthy good!!! Top 5 of all time, on any racquet, ever. Case closed. Book it.

Can someone post a pic/vid of the pj in this thread please. The vid that was posted here earlier is unavailable now.

Thanks!

Anymore free pop from either models?
-from the radicals ive been trying out, sadly no, IMO thus far
-or rather none i can tell "right away", its taken me 3x out with the two (old/new) RADICALS racquets to get to that suspicion
-i thinks its a bit of BS update, paint and slight feel update, nothing more
-its not a day and night difference, its just a sligh modification
-cant just update "the bridge" of the racket and expect a world of difference
-i think this was a bit of a "money grab" update from head
-just enough to get people exited and/or get people to bite
-its does look cool/er
-it does feel "a little" better ,(vibrations) but not a ton of difference

-i dont have any playing info on the gravity stick
-i choose to go with the radical this time around
-ill grab the gravity at some point in the future
-but im not a fan of all that black!, why does every racket "need to be black"?!

Thanks for the update. But why fix what's not broken? The current Radical and Gravity are pretty highly regarded by most people. Why would head make major overhauls when most people like them already?

That Radical you're playing isn't black :D

Nice to hear honest feedback instead of shameless promotion of new models because you were fortunate enough to get them before everyone else.

So, wait, the gravity line is the second best selling for Head and the Radical line is the third best seller. Most complaint with the 360+ radical was around the PJ. And you are suggesting they should do the major changes to the two very successful lines??

-i guess it all depends on your definition of "major update"
-a major or good update for me was the graph360 to graph360+
-the feel and the weight changed NOTISABLY, in a good way
-it took me 1x hitting session to notise the difference

-this update is NOT major, its very sudle in regards to "feel"
-it took me 3x-hitting sessiosn to notice

-the paintjob however is a big good update (y)(y)
-i was in the minority of people who liked the "all orange" paintjob of the previous
-but i also like this new one!!!, provably a bit more, it has good contrast of colors
-so yeah, pj wise, i think more people are going to go for it, but not because of feel difference!!?!?!

-as for the gravity update, i have no comments on it
-i just saw it, held it and gave it the "ol'sniff test"!
-i did not care too much for the color they went with
-im not a big DARK color guy, i like more color on my racquets
-i prefer a ALL.white racquet to a ALL.black racquet

-a head racquet with ALL auxetic tech would be interesting
-i think thats what i was expecting in my mind
-instead, we got a radical with just auxetic on the throat/bridge piece (a bit of a let down) (n)

I'm excited to try the new Radical with the auxetic technology. I was very close to making it my racquet of choice, but it came down to it feeling a little harsh for my liking. I loved everything else about it though. A little added feel & comfort, I'm in! The Speed Pro feels much better from the Auxetic tech, hoping the same from the Radical. Now the Gravity, I'm not sure how you make it feel any better! Black is my color though, so should help with gravity's sales numbers. I was not fond of multi color scheme they have going right now.
I'm always exited for new paint Jobs; they can sway my opinion on a racquet for sure:)
PS-4 out of 8 of the players in Next Gen tournament using Head racquets.

I was expecting the same thing, lol. Weird. Tennis Spin, for all his warts, suggested in one of his more recent videos the difference between the Radical MP and Pro is graphite in more places in in the Pro. Which begs the question for me, what is in the racquet that's not graphite even?

-the good thing is that now you can provably find a good deal/$$ on the current h.radical(orange)
-but i do think the PJ is much better on the new one (coming early next year)!

i mean, based on the auxetic racquets already out, people shouldn't have expected any major updates. IMO that's why head is able to push out racquet updates so quickly even as other manufacturers have slowed down. it's just PJ and slightly different feel with auxetic. i do appreciate the auxetic seems to be making contact a bit more plush across the board though.

Will gravity continue the Duffel tennis bag trend, or transition to a normal 6-9-12 pack tennis bag?
-what the head rep said and showed about bags was:
-no racquet line affiliation bags anymore
-no more head.RADICAL bags only
-no more head.SPEED WHITE bags only
-just standard colors with HEAD on them!
-so a bag can be used for any/all lines of head racquets
-hope im explaining that correctly!?

-he had a white/grey bag which read just HEAD, no longer head.speed
-and a turquoise/green, that looked like the boom colors

hmm, probably just a typo, but this article says that the MP has a 18x20 string pattern.

The “insider” is clueless. There were tons of typos that apparently got fixed and that one is left. I would not completely trust that data

LOL. Tennis Spin should not give suggestions as with every new one he proves how clueless he is…
MP and Pro are different molds and fairly different layups. They feel very different. I am sure one has slightly more graphite than the other and in a different place…

as for the “update comment” from @1HBHfanatic , I’d agree it is not significant layup change however it is very noticeable. The rackets definitely feel more muted especially on off center shots. Basically, they improved the 360+ release and fixed a few small details. Again, they listened to what Market was asking for…

This is what I’m looking forward to. Currently play with the Blade v8 and love the maneuverability and speed of the racquet, but there are days when it’s difficult to put the ball away. Looking for added power but without sacrificing too much speed. Radical MP seems to fit that description but the 360+ was just a bit too brassy on the arm for me.

I was not too crazy about the 360+ Radicals, though preferred the Pro. This time around, I prefer the Auxetic MP between these two for a fre power, easier spin and good feedback. The Auxetic pro felt too muted for my liking...

That sounds great. The Auxetic I felt in the Speed MP felt great. Soon demo-ing the Extreme Tour so will learn more about the tech.

What would you say is the difference between the 360+ radical pro and 360+ mp?? Mainly in terms of power and also why did you care more for the pro than the mp?

I saw something from tennis nerd saying that he preferred the 360+ version of the prestige compared to the auxetic prestige.

seems like everyone who’s played with the new radical mp says the auxetic makes it slightly less jarring on off center shots and slightly more plush. Or that it is about the same.

Anyone out there prefer the play and feel of the orange 360+ Rad to the Auxetic rad? As in the update is actually not as good?

It kind of makes sense that the prestige (and probably the gravity I bet) would show the least amount of difference with auxetic. Those are the more flexible lines.

those colors do look sweet. i mostly thought of head's vertical model name lettering on the throat a lazy copy of pure strike (i'm sure the strike racquet wasn't the first product ever to do such a design either), but it actually makes sense and falls on theme with "gravity". pretty cool.
