Hi guys, recently I recieved a gift from a family memeber which was this racket the babolat aero pro drive gt. I had a quick look around here and now have my suspicions that it may be fake, i know it was given to me and had been used, so no idea of how it came originally.

Had a look and the GT Technology bit does have those grey lines, so thats why im confused, here are some pics?

Anyone got any info? Thanks guys

I smell a fake. In the photo of the throat with the barcode on it, there are two things awry. One is that the Woofer grommets in the bridge don't look right. The second is that the black paint in the throat should have a matte finish, not glossy. This hold true for that entire side of the frame--the side that says "Babolat" has a matte finish all the way up. The other side is glossy on both sides in the throat and only on the outside in the hoop. The inside of the hoop should be matte all the way around.

1. take a close up picture of the gt technology
2. open the buttcap and take a picture

i can tell you if its fake instantaneously, the pictures you provided don't give any clues if its fake or not. too ahrd to tell

There are some things that look different than the pics on TW.

Sorry for the bad news, but I think it's fake.

the gt its definatley painted on, so it is a fake, but just to be sure, touch it, if it feels smooth its fake, if it feels a little textured it could be real, although in the pic it looks painted on.

You don't even have to open up the butt cap. The string pattern is wrong. The one you have has a skip the 7th and 9th holes at the top and bottom. Babolats skip the 8th hole only top and bottom. Yours looks like a Pro Supex Dynamic Energy that's been painted to look like a Babolat. I've had someone bring me one just like that to string. I informed them and the seller refunded their money quickly.

is it a fake?

I have exactly the same racket...plays alot better than the dunlop I had been using before. I am a regular tennis player and coach. I also string rackets. I strung this one on the max to see is it would break through stringing and playing. NOTHING! seems to be fine. Have you kept it? used it for a period of time? any problems? emailed babolat for the confimation on the barcode number still waiting for a response....What is your barcode number, if its the same as mines, then we both have a fake but again I'm not fussed! Ha. Also the racket is NOT head heavy which suggests its OK.

It's a fake.

This is how you can tell if it's a fake.
