Voodoo, looking forward to your pics. If it's the Berlin seller you got it from, you must be delighted with the condition. Mine came virtually new even though he listed it 8/10. Not a scratch on it!!

just picked one up and the grip size is too big for my liking

is it difficult to change the pallet?

i usually use L2 and this one is L4

tried skin feel grip but still too large

agree with posters who say this particular version has the best feel

    thanks!

I got two APD orignals and one 2012 version recently to compare side by side and I honestly don't know wtf Babolat is thinking - APD originals perform way better, the new ones are simply too stiff for serious game with too much pop getting in the way of consistency, depth control (and yes thats WITH the full western swings) and touch.

I doubt there are any pros using a non-paintjob APDs and I don't know what possible reason Babolat could have for not releasing an APD with it's original stiffness.

Ask Daniel AKA Babolat Official. Would be interesting to know how he would respond.

    They could re-issue those frames..

I've actually wondered about that. Whether apart from Nadal, other pros also use non-cortex paintjob ones.

For example would a relatively new guy like jerzy janowicz have had the chance to try the original APD (released 2004), or did he jump straight to the cortex ones and stuck with them.

Janowicz allegedly plays with an AeroStorm Tour with an APD paintjob...

Hi v-verb, apologies for the delay in responding. I am actually playing with the pro staff tour 90 now. I go back to the APD when I feel like unleashing some massive top spins! Not playing competitive tennis allows me to alternate. Sure is a challenge each time, but it's all in good fun for me.

    APDo was 67, APDc 67, APDgt is 70 and APD2013 is 69.

APDo feels least powerful, most flexy though.

Off topic but that jacket is sweet. Where did you get that style? I don't think TW has 'em.

Don't be discouraged mate. I only found it about 3 months ago and new.
There's actually one on "the" auction site but pricey!!
I paid nowhere near the price they're asking for it.

Are your oAPDs still your main sticks v-verb? You probably still swing your pro staffs every now and then.

    hi Gavan!

The sticks on the right are my main sticks - Wilson Hyper Pro Staffs specially drilled for Mark Woodroofe. 12 x 16 pattern.

Incredible sticks - for me they do it all - power, touch, spin. My Holy Grail sticks.

I do break out the APDO's and Pro Staff StVs for fun however

    Cheers!

    They look great mate!!

I've seen those hyper pro staffs before but never 12 x 16.
How did you get your hands on 7 of them? Awesome!

    Hey Gavan

Sorry for the late reply - I found someone who had a stash from years ago and he offered them to me. They were understandably pricey but considering the rarity I had to get them. Fantastic racquets!

That said I played with my APDO standard length (I also have a Plus) and it was great! Nowhere near the spin of the Wilson Woodfordes but my fave Babolat model by a long shot!

have you ever seen an original apd with shiny paint? I got one used a couple days ago and unlike my other apd and apd+ this one is shiny and the case is quite different, could I have a fake or just one from an early batch? thanks

I wish I could find a new Original non cortex in a 1/4 grip. Or a cortex in a 1/4. Or even 2010 Team GT in a 1/4. Any one of them with a low twistweight lmao.

Sadly, I played my best with an APDC. Kind of want to have one in the bag. Just need to keep my eyes open for a non rip off.

Well I lent out my APDO to a friend and traded away my APDO+ (why did I do that???) which left me with my new APDO (which I'll never use).

So with the talk of a new APD coming out that may not have the killer blackout PJ that Nadal was using, I got the bug for a usable APDO+.

A very kind member sold me his and it ships out tomorrow. Will string with kevlar/monogut (killer string combo) and use it when the urge strikes

    Cheers

I would agree but Rafa's stealth Pure Aero's are the coolest sticks I've ever seen. Wish I could snag a couple...

all they gotta do is release some pure aeros with the stealth PJ ... i'd rather have that than a "french open" or "wimbeldon" PJ
