Babolat compare: PDGT (2012) vs APDGT

For you guys who have played with both frames, what is the main differences between those two models?

Pro´s and Con´s

I currently use APDGT with silicone and lead weights in the handle and some lead at 3 and 9 so the unstrung weight is around 330 grams.

I am a bit interested in both PDGT and Roddick PD GT. Will be interesting to hear your thoughts

probably not so many answers because there have already been 2-3 threads asking that exact question (and were answered) somewhat recently.

They are both very good. Both allow you to hit with easy power and with lots of spin, but the APDGT was too stiff and light for me. I prefer the latest PD which plays quite similarly to my Juice 100. I tend to use a multi at slightly higher tensions rather than a poly (due to a history of sore elbow).

Interesting, since the PD2012 is both stiffer and lighter than the APDGT.

I found the PD2012 to still be more powerful and slightly less spinny than the APDGT line. The APD still has the edge from the baseline for me because of the spin production and slightly better control, but the PD wins for serving, where it helps hit bomb after bomb with great depth and directional control. In terms of feel, the PD 2012 is better--it feels less hollow and slightly more dampened in stock form.

It looks like the comparison is more between the APDGT VS PDGT. Let's hear more about the comparison with PDR 2012 please =)

Haha, my bad. Reading the title, the 2nd post, and looking back on the other threads, it was all about the APDGT vs PD, I must have completely ignored the small mention of the pdr.

OP: I've been a long time user of the APDGT, also customized but with less weight. I have been interested in the PD for a long time, but the harsh feel kept me away. The 2012 PD and PDR has done away with the harshness, but for me they still lack in feel compared to the APDGT. I have found that the Wilson Juice (100) has the power of a PD/PDR especially on serve but with better feel. On ground strokes it plays very, very similar to the Babolats. However it needs lead in the hoop, esp at 3 & 9 (I leaded it at 3,9, 12). If you're interested in the PD's I'd suggest giving this a try, just lead and balance it like your current frames.
