***The sign-up for both Playtest Opportunities are now CLOSED. We have all the playtesters we need. An email will be sent out Monday, February 18th to all who were selected for Playtest Opportunity #1. All emails have been sent out for those selected for Playtest Opportunity #2. Thank you.***

Attention Talk Tennis Members:

We have two very exciting playtest opportunities for our Talk Tennis members.

Playtest Opportunity #1

FOR ALL SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TALK TENNIS MEMBERS- Babolat is hosting a footwear event for the new Propulse 4 shoes on Feb 23, 2013, from 12-3 pm at the Nellie Gail Ranch Tennis Club in Laguna Hills, CA. Four Talk Tennis members will be invited to participate in a clinic and receive a free pair of Babolat Propulse 4s to playtest. Playtesters who are picked will be notified via email with more details.(Please Note: Playtesters are responsible for transportation to and from event.)

Playtest Opportunity #2

FOR ALL USA TALK TENNIS MEMBERS- We will be sending out a very limited number of Babolat Propulse 4 shoes for a playtest. Playtesters will be responsible for wearing the shoes for the given time and writing a thorough review of the shoes. Playtesters who are picked will be notified via email. (Please Note: Shoes will be shipped out on February 20, 2013.)

Failure to include ALL correct information in your email will result in exclusion from the selection process.

We select playtesters based on a number of factors, including past performance on playtests. Due to the very limited number of samples, we will not be able satisfy the large majority of requests. It is absolutely essential that everyone who receives a pair of shoes posts a review.

This playtest is FREE of charge. For Playtest Opportunity #2, the only thing that we ask of you is to post your findings in this thread. Your review is due by March 29, 2013. If you do not post a review or if your review is clearly lacking effort, you will be excluded from future playtests.

Please use the following to write your review:

Tennis experience/background:
Describe your playing style (i.e. serve & volley):
Current shoe:
How many hours did you play with the shoe?
Comments on shoe performance:
-comfort:
-arch support:
-stability/support:
-ventilation:
-sole durability:
-toe durability:
-traction:
-weight:
General reaction/comments on overall performance:

Thanks,
TW Staff

Just curious...if someone is selected for playtest 2 and the shoes turn out to be too tight or too loose, can they send the shoes back to exchange for a bigger or smaller size?

Hope I get in. Looking forward to comparing these to the Propulse 3 if I get chosen.

Thanks TW This is an awesome opportunity! I have had good experiences with my Propulse 2's and 3's in the past, and the 4's look very solid as well!

Most likely the upcoming Wednesday-Saturday I'm assuming.

We will not be exchanging sizes. If you have any questions about fit, we can help out.

quick question, when will the conformation email be sent out?

EastAngels2014,

Andyroo10567 is right sometime between Wednesday and Friday of this week.

Alas, do they only go up to size 14? Run big? I wear a size 15 and have heard great things about the P3, but don't have many options (Usually just Adidas/Nike) in finding size 15 shoes.

Hi Brittany,

I keep reading that Babolat is half a size smaller and to go up half a size. I normally wear the adidas Barricade Team in a 10.5 so in my email I put size 11. Can someone at TW compare the fit from a 10.5 Barricade Team if I get chosen? Thanks in advance!

Hi jonnyjack,

We have yet to try on the Babolat Propulse 4's. We should be getting some samples to try on within the week and will update the fit if we find the sizing off.

Unfortunately, size 14 is the highest Babolat goes.

6 Month durability wouldn't apply for Playtest. They are merely asking you to use the shoes, in turn, give a review for the 1 month you had them for.

wishful thinking that I'm going to be selected...

I wear a size 12 in Asics GR3 and Nike Lunar Vapor 8s. Would they fit the same/true to size?

Will keep my ears perked on your findings.

Thank you.

What is the selection process? Out of curiosity, does it matter when you send in an email application? Or do you wait until all of the e-mails are in and then select?

Most likely first come first serve basis. As long as the first that came meet the requirements listed, there good to go. They announce when they are going to stop accepting email applications. Until then, just email away.

The selection process for smaller playtests like this one is based on numerous factors. We keep the application process open for a couple days (about 4-5 days) and collect all the information from the applicants. Once we close the application process, we go through and pick the playtesters based on factors like previous playtest reviews, interaction on the board, etc.

I currently use Propulse 3 which is,IMHO, uniquely low profile in front but kinda fat
near heel. I would be very interested in how Babolat updated that unique
profile.

Not yet for me. I think I probably didn't get picked due to my inexperience on the board...
dont think that way, you never know if you get picked or not. there might be another playtest later this year that you might get selected. who knows what playtest they're offering this year.

I've never heard of TW offering playtests to people of the board here so it's a first time. :)

Keep your eyes peeled for tomorrow morning as well. Emails should be sent before noon PST.

Anyone else recieve anything? I am too anxious! A few minutes ago I got an email, and excitedly opened it to find a Uniqlo message. I was broken
