Babolat Pure Aero 2022

I was thinking the same thing. It should be a 3 year cycle so the timing is right.
The 2021 Pure Drive was released last year and reviews were about 10 months ago. I remember there were posts about it earlier.
That said, I have seen nothing about 2022 Pure Aero.

But then they wouldn’t be a big racquet company, they need to release a great racquet and then proceed to do the opposite next release. A tried and true formula used by all the big brands.
Yea, next one will be piece of crap. and we will be looking at fleebay to get that discontinued racket and looking all night.............. :(

Could always just drop the ra a tad more. 8-B
Agree, probably not a bad idea to make it bit more flexible but only thing is then racket will be less powerful. I would keep this level of power with current pure aero.............

OR,,,,,,,,,, Just Keep everything same and change the Color to something that more mass appeal. All yellow didn't seem to be that popular for some reason

Yes, Change from the most recent yellow. Maybe something like the classic pattern?

Just spoke to the pro shop manager and he said they will be seeing the same price jump as the recent Wilson pro staff 97/rf97. Here in Canada they’re about $299. They’ll be for sale by Mid October according to him.

From the conversation we had he told me that he’s already ordered stock for the club pro shop and should have them for mid October. That would similar to this current gens launch that happened fall of 2018.

I’m hesitant to believe this because we haven’t seen or heard anything yet. Only time will tell

I hope they would make the string patters a bit tighter like the Ezone 100 offers. Or offer two versions: One as the current model and another one with a tighter pattern like the Soft Drive used to have. But, I don't think Babolat will do that......thing is not everyone plays with an extreme topspin grip. The Pure Drive is way too stiff and the Pure Aero is just about right when it comes to stiffness/power. Only thing missing is a more controlled launch angle......:)

My first expensive racquet I ever bought was the 2019 PA when it first came out. Over the next two years I tried over a dozen other racquets. The Pure Aero is still my go to… I just hope the price in the 2019s go down with a new release. Doubtful in today’s market…

I played with the current Pure Aero a few times. It was great but too launch for my game. I prefer the Yonex Ezone 100 which I guess in Babolat lineup would be equal to the Pure Drive. The Ezone 100 however has a stiffness rating close to the Pure Aero while the Pure Drive is well over 70, i.e. as stiff as it gets.

I think moving forward the current retail
Price for the 2019 aero is the “discount price” since everything is going up.

From what I’m reading on this and other threads……nothing new in 2021.
2022 unknown. I am hoping for a delayed release…..maybe around AO 2022. I’m sure others here might be more informed than me.
Looking forward to seeing the new paint!
I believe it’s easy to predict considering pure drives update. More plush feel, better dampening tech and maybe a little lower SW.
I think it will be a nice update. I’m using a pure drive 21 now. Amd love the standard spacing. Amd the improved feel. It’s the best iteration of a pure drive I have ever used. Doesn’t feel hollow. So the aero would have to be a real winner for me to switch back to it. I

Black is nice but boring. If I'm not game to be dressed flashy I want my racquet to be flashy ! I'm saying that and yellow is far from my favourite colour, but for a racquet it'S different. Black is so generic.

Also if the string pattern gets tighter then I feel it gets away from what the PA is and why it's loved. Like mentioned by @danbrenner , the PD is the choice for that. I want the PA with its pattern and good feel !

The 19 PA went with a high twist weight route. The latest Pure drive followed that route. I'm not sure how the PA will evolved from there.

Hi

I saw Babolat Pure Aero (Rafa) review and I believe it's the time for a new release this year ...am I wrong ?

Ugh. The thought of another Aero. It's like people clamoring to drop $250 (unstrung) on a frame that performs exactly like the previous 5 versions.

interesting to hear that, I've only hit the last 3 versions but thought they all played quite different:

2013: tighter string pattern, no Tour version (used for 1 year)

2016: more power, more spin, less control, less stable got a Tour version (used for 2 years)

2019: more stable, dialed in power, same spin as '16, loved the Tour version (used for 2 years. now Strike 2020)

I wanna say the pure aero PJ will be like the pure drive, but with yellow instead of blue.

I've played with the aero family since the 2007 cortex version, and I can say they change it every year just a bit until it gets too far in one direction, then they slowly go back. The 07 and 10 version were solid and stable. Then the 13 version made it the most universal racquet making it slightly lower SW and best feel IMOA, 16 version made it stiffer (my least fav). 19 version sorta combined the 10 and 13, having the 13 feel with stability of the 10.

If I had to guess, they would probably dampen the 22 version and make it easier to swing and try to widen the market of it a bit and get the juniors back on it, since as of late a lot of juniors are going to yonex and using wilson blades
