Hi Fellow Pure Drivers,
I'm a little confused.....
I've had my new PD 2012 now for about 4 weeks, and have been having mixed results with it. I've been using the Pure Drives for 10 years (the PD team is still my favourite)
I have rated the 2012 well initially, as it's more solid then previous cortex versions, but I am finding that it does not seem to be capable of the same "PoP" that we have come to identify the Pure Drives with on Serving. I don't know why - is it the lower swing weight (or just me) ?
My playing opponents have also commented on this, stating my PD team serve is faster, which I can also feel too ( I can gop for Body Blaster serves with my PD team, but the PD 2012 does not yield the same oomph).
Another observation comparing the PD Team to the 2012 PD, is the stiffness factor--PD 2012 is noticeably stiffer, and the PD Team has a definite flex when hitting groundies (I know the PD team has an RA of 69, and it's been strung many times, so that's probably why).
I have for the time being relegated my PD 2012 as a my back up, and returned the PD Team to being my primary stick, due to a lack of the usual "free" power from the 2012 PD when serving. I've tried lead as well (which I don't like to do generally speaking), and can't seem to find the PoP on this 2012 PD.
Anyone else find the same?
