Babolat Pure Drive questions...

1. Anybody know where to get NON-woofer grommets for Pure Drive?

2. Weird question, but would the Head Extreme grommets fit since they copied the Pure Drive???

3. I know.... higher tension...
I really like the power and spin of the Pure Drive, but I am definitely feeling that strange woofer effect. Definitely not a "crisp" hit.
I am going to restring since these strings feel like they are not as high
as I played with in a Pure Drive before... I need over 62lbs and poly to feel decent. Maybe just the restringing will negate the feeling I was getting today.. It had Luxilon Original guessing 54lbs??? Way to trampoliny but very spinny. Any thoughts on lower powered string??
I have never tried Babolat Ballistic... how is that in Pure Drive?
Thanks!
S.

Just string your PD over 60lbs. Apparently you can string them up to 66lbs and it overrides the Woofer system. All the Woofer system does is make the string bed looser, so just string tighter and it will solve your problem.

Yah, I am restringing again tonight at 63lbs... hopefully that will make it less "thumpy" and hopefully a little crisper.

If you string your PD at 63 lbs with a poly to "disable" the woofer technology that doesn't do anything anyway, you're in for a world of pain. Literally.

To Bottle Rocket,
don't worry, I have strung it low 60's before with poly and no problems.
I string my 90" frames at 60+ lbs with a poly hybrid, so low 60's in 100" Pure Drive doesn't feel bad at all.
Usually Luxilon Original 16g.

I might not use the Pure Drive, but if not I will probably use something similar... by similar I mean an 11oz, fast swinging racquet that will allow me to ATTACK!

still trying to get my hands on nBlade, pure Storm, LM Instinct, and Yonex 002 demos....

To Kaotic:
Woofer's are "the point" behind Pure Drives??? no no. they didn't even have woofer grommets for the first years... and if you string them up in the 60s, it does minimize the woofer trampoline that I am feeling with these old strings.

you're fogetting the dunlop 300 series. Just don't string with kevlar over 60lbs, I played with that for a year and a half (didn't know it was kevlar-damn stringer kept his mouth shut about that) and it was a huge mistake.

right... I do want to try a Dunlop 300.. the 61 stiffness sounds nice.. just wish it was 18x20 but oh well!
