Babolat Pure Storm Tour modern equivalent

I want to demo some racquets that would be similar to the Pure Storm Tour+

Until recently I have only ever hit with my Pure Drive+ racket. I happened to start hitting with this old Pure Storm Tour+ and I love the racket. I feel like I have a lot more control/accuracy.

What would be the similar new racquets to this that you would suggest I try?

There are no extended length models currently made with similar specs. There are very few extended length racquets available any more, period.

Standard length frames with similar specs are the Pure Strike Tour, The Yonex Ezone Tour, and the Head Radical Pro.

One approach to replacing XL racquets is to use models with sweetspot expanded well enough towards the tip. Try Gravity Pro, try Yonex isometric options (new VCore PRO might be a thing), maybe use some lead tape at 12 o'clock. Getting that sweetspot move 0.5" higher is not something crazy. And you don't need extra length to hit something off the tree, but to hit a ball with stringbed, huh?

Phantom 93 is also worth considering.

I’ve only ever hit with the xl racquet. Only because that was the hand me down racquet I stared with. Will shifting to a normal sized racquet be a tough adjustment?

I've played with a 28", 27.5" and 27's in the last 5 years and it's not a tough adjustment at all. They just have different strengths is all. You get more leverage on longer frames for serving and hitting forehands but you also get less maneuverability for volleys and defensive shots.

Pro Kennex sells a bunch of frames at 27.5" length. They are all 100 or slightly larger, and you do not have to worry about stiffness because of their Kinetic Technology. I prefer them because they are slightly longer.

You might want to try an Angell racquet, all their racquets are available in XL and you can customise the weight/balance/string pattern. Not too expensive either.

If you took the Yonex VCore Pro 97 and extended it a half inch, you might have something that plays similarly. The SW is low enough that it can be extended and not get too unmaneuverable.

Here is a link to a thread by someone else who did it:

I agree, you can adjust to different length frames pretty easily. However, you may find your strokes changing slightly and even your approach to the game being transformed some.
