Babolat pure storm tour similar to pure aero vs?

After looking long and hard to find more pure storms as I love the racket I feel as though I need to switch. They are becoming harder and harder to find new and I don't like buying used. This leaves me with one opinion. I have tried out Wilson as well as babolat and haven't found anything I liked. I saw Babolat recently came out with the pure aero vs and some specs seemed similar. 16x20, 98 sq inch, but the weights are different. How much lead would I need to add to frame to get it to be more similar to pure storm. Is this even a viable option? I play college tennis and I get a racket deal and need to order soon so I can't wait for the tour model either. I also heard that since the control and pure strike are being discontinued that there might be something similar to the pure storm tour released at the end of this year if anyone can confirm. Thanks in advance.

They are going to come out with a pure aero VS tour, but no release date yet. I'm sure you can get the stars n stripes VS to pure storm specs , but it will take some lead. Mine are 11.2. Add a leather grip and some lead up top and your good to go.

The Pure Aero VS is a sweet frame, but wouldn't think you'll have that as an option for your college package seeing how it's a premium priced product that was released in limited qty's, but if you can get your hands on some, you'd easily be able to spec it out to your liking. Was told it's releasing to the masses later in year(yellow/black i think) but doesn't sound like you can wait that long.

Yeah I just called my schools babolat rep and said I would get 4 frames, 12 pack bag, 6 sets of rpm blast, shirt and grips for 500. She said I could get the Stars and Stripes vs with it as well as the bag too so looks like I'll be picking it up but it's back logged till mid July. Any others who have also tried the vs that has tried the pure storm tour? Thanks

Average specs from racquet finder
Pure Storm Tour
98 sq in, 27", 11.8 oz (335 g), 6 pt HL, SW 333, 21 mm, RA 63, 16x20

Pure Aero VS
98 sq in, 27", 11.1 oz (315 g), 4 pt HL, SW 319, 21 mm, RA 87, 16x20

1st off, are you getting 4 matched frames with your package? If not, then you're going to have to measure the mass, balance and SW of all 4 frames. Once initially determined, try and make them all the same, probably get the balance point and SW to be the same or as close as possible. Now you have something that is the same from which you can shoot for the Pure Storm specs. Simply slapping on a leather grip and adding lead to all 4 frames won't get you there unless you start from the same point. Babolat QC really is atrocious.

edit: The PK Ki 5 is actually pretty close to your specs and the PK QC is much better. Too bad they don't offer packages.

Just found a couple of unused Pure Storm Tour GTs that I purchased from a seller in Germany. A very welcome addition to my racquet collection
