This next week I will be getting the Pure Strike and 3 other friends in the mail from TW. Prior to my own experience with this new fun toy, does anyone have any pros and cons to the racquet? If anyone can add a comparison that would be awesome too. By comparison, I mean to the stick I am coming from which is the PD 2015. I am a 4.0 all court player that plays with full bed of poly. Thanks in advance!

I played briefly with the Pure Drive, and also tried the Pure Drive Tour. I found myself to be somewhat disconnected from the ball. Sort of like you'd make contact, then look up and see what the racket had done with the ball.

I'm almost a month in now with the Pure Strike 16x19 and I have to say I'm loving it, to the extent I have four more arriving tomorrow. For the last several years I've been playing with a Prestige as and more recently Pro Stocks. I have tried A LOT of rackets this last year. The Strike is definitely stiffer, but it uniquely also has decent flex for a stiffer frame. I am completely connected to the ball, and know exactly what's happening on contact. Throw in massive serves, awesome spin, and finesse for touch shots. I've never been a Babolat fan but I can't fault this thing on anything. I actually love it!

Thank you! That is how I've been with my PD so I can't wait to get this demo rocking!

Hi Tordne, what do you have your pure strike strung with? I demoed it and really liked it but it was a little stiff and found some pain in my arm but it seemed like the stiffness could be offset with a softer string. The demo had RPM blast.

I've been playing with poly strings (Cyclone) a bit lately and think I've managed to aggravate my tennis elbow a bit. So actually played tonight with NRG2 strung at 55lb. It's important to point out that it's not at all a consequence of the Strike. It's been threatening to come on, and I've been playing with flexible, thin beamed, Pro Stocks recently.

the pure strikes are awesome. I had the last generation in a pure strike tour 18x20. great racquet. loved the dense pattern and 12oz stock weight. i should have bought like 2 or 3 more when i had the chance but i've moved onto Yonex now.

Like you I'm coming from the PD 2015, switching to the PS18/20. I've had the PS a little over a week and haven't had a chance to really bang balls with it to much time teaching. First thing that comes to mind when I hit with it is how flexible it is, reminds me of the Prestages I used in college. Definitely a big drop in power which I expected, not sure I can pull it off at 45. It's so easy to cheat and use the PD power to bail me out of trouble if I have lazy feet. I should get my first good hit in on Thursday night.

After my first successful demo day, and I am in love with the 16x19 P17. I'm not a huge fan of RPM blast which the demo came with, but whenever I order I'll get it with my poly of recent choice, Diadem Solstice Power/Pro depending on my mood. My serves are fire, my backhands have an amazing "pop," and volleys and slices are fun. This racquet feels likes my PD has taken all of its power and made it harnessable.

I noticed I was well down on spin with the NRG2. Still "decent" by regular standards, but I could really tell it wasn't causing as many errors for my opponents. Anyway, I couldn't help myself, hit the court Wednesday wiht freshly strung Cyclone (17 gauge) and man it was fun. I'm actually surprising myself with how much I like this racket!
