Babolat star 5 or sensor clamps

Is it possible to buy just the clamps (not the bases) that come with the Babolat star 5 or sensor? If so please send a link:)

competitor linking isn't allowed. I'd contact babolat directly, shouldn't be a problem to order clamps separately.

Ok thanks will they fit all universal clamp bases then?
No, they are not universal. The sensor clamps won't fit a gamma or alpha machine. The sensor clamps slide over the base clamp posts while the gamma or alpha clamps slide into the base clamp posts.

Yep, the Bab clamps are sheath design vs post. That's not to say that you couldn't get them to work, but you'd have to commission a machine(d) custom adapter, which would run you a comparable amount to a full clamp setup, so probably not worth it...

So the Star 5 and Sensor use identical updated clamps which differ from earlier Star machines...is Babolat OEM the only good replacement option? Do the Eagnas PN-1012 clamps fit well, which the manufacturer claims are a replacement to Sensor clamps? Any others which match Babolat's sheath design?

Many references to how the Eagnas clamp does/doesn't work on Gamma and Alpha machines, but not with Babolat.

For instance the Gamma, Alpha, and Eagnas clamps have a post that goes into a hosel in the clamp base. Babolat clamps have a hosel that goes ove the post on the clamp base. Not to mention turntable bases are different thicknesses and the posts and hostels may not be the same sizes.

If you do want to but them, and I suspect you're in the UK, the cost is probably around £120-150, and that maybe each.

I assume you're talking about the Babolat clamps. Thats much less than I would have thought.

Yes, Babolat Clamps. I'm almost sure that is the price each. I know it used to be about £65 just to have the star 4 clamps refurbed.

After some further research, I've learned the Babolat Star 5 clamp is $250 direct from the manufacturer. As an aside, my experience with Jason at Babolat was nothing short of stellar. Instant response with detailed information as requested. I'm probably foolish not to "pay to play" and be done with it.

Pro's Pro appears to make a clamp, the SX01, which may also work. This clamp uses a sheath design and has an approximate 14 mm inside diameter. It is $52 shipped from the UK to the US. I had thought Pro's Pro = Eagnas, but Eagnas does not appear to have this clamp or a machine using it. Might try this unless someone dissuades me in the next day or so.

just spend the $250 for the Babolat clamp. as long as you don't lose it like the previous owner did, they last forever.

Eagnas will not work completely different shaft design.
Indeed. Despite the Eagnas website saying they do replace Babolat Sensor clamps, their customer service emailed back today and confirmed the PN-1012 do not fit the Star 5 machine.

About 3 months ago the Pro's Pro sales person stated that the inside diameter of that clamp is 12.5mm and the outside dimension is 17mm. Not sure of the accuracy of those measurements. The photo that was sent by Pro's Pro had a tape measure laying next to the clamps so I presume that was the measurement tool that was used.

If it doesn't work how much does it cost to send it back and how sure are you that you will get your money back. If it is outside the US I would think long and hard about buying it.

So I purchased the Pro's Pro SX01 clamp based on the following photo and the assumption it was a knock-off of the Babolat design.

Unfortunately, 13.5 mm is not 14 mm (!), so it didn't fit. I suppose the inside diameter could have been enlarged at a machine shop, but the quality of the clamping area was nowhere near the diamond-texture of the Babolat clamp. The seller had agreed beforehand to accept the return in case it didn't fit. Ultimately the shipping back and forth was equal to the price of the clamp, so lesson learned.

The Babolat clamp arrives tomorrow.

Reviving this thread since I’m looking for a pair of Babolat Star 5 clamps. Anyone have some extras or know where I can buy them? Will the Babolat Sensor clamps fit the same?

Sensor Clamps are teh same as Star 5 clamps. They're interchangable. FYI, those clamps will also fit of the newer Racket station machines

@p1k I recently had an interaction with Mia. He is typical Babolat, first rate easy to work with. I had to buy a base clamp for the Mighty Sensor. He told me there were 12 left so I bought two. He asked if I needed any clamps since they are running low as well. If you need clamps, I'd recommend you go ahead and purchase. I know for certain Babolat USA had some 3 - 4 months ago.

Good luck.

If you have clamps that you just want to replace them can get the ones you have reconditioned at Tennis Machines.

Hi All,

Yes, Star 5 and Sensor clamps are the same. We are currently backordered on them unfortunately, but I have an order in with Babtec. It could take a while though; possibly 3 -4 weeks.
