Babolat Star 5 stopped working, display is lit but blank

Hello,

A couple of days ago all of a sudden my Babolat Star 5 stopped working.
Here is the issue: when I turn on the machine the display is lit but it is blank, there is no welcome message and no tension value.
Traction head doesn't move (stays at the left position) and touching the Cycle start button does nothing.
I've checked 3 inside fuses and they are fine.
Machine was used lightly, 2-3 racquets per month.
Would appreciate any help or advice on how to diagnose and fix this issue.

ok, could be the display module. I had an issue on mine when I couldnt access the menu since the buttons became defective. Once replaced it was fine.

But I'll give you another thing to try that sometimes works with this machine.

With the machine switched on, pull back the tension head until it reaches the end of track; then switch the machine off and back on. Sometimes it will reset the machine. Be warned though, it takes some effect to pull against the tension-head traction, and it may 'jump' a bit.

Thank you for the advice. I've tried the mentioned steps with the tension head but it didn't change anything.

Not sure if this will help or not but take the tension module out, remove and clean all the ribbon connectors with contact cleaner., then reinstall all the connectors.

This…. I had the same issue last week and realized it was pretty cool in the utility building. Turned the heater on and after 10/15m - that woke it up.

i might need to take the tension module out soon and clean it

Thank you for the advice, Irvin.

There is only one ribbon and it connects the display module with the motherboard. I cleaned its contacts and the result is the same.

Also I tried the new display module and the machine is still not responsive.
But first half of the new display now shows the black rectangles...

Give it an hour or so to itself and make some coffee. Sounds like me first thing:mad:

Dang! that thing came out in the mid 2000s, how long do you think it should last? It ain't no Prince Neos 1000 or a 2001 Honda CRV?

Check to ensure there are no damage to the display cable. Is the cable a flat cable? With time flat ribbon cables start to deteriorate. If you can take a picture of the Mainboard and the tension module where the cables are connected that will be great. Worse case scenario there may be a bad capacitor in the main board.

Also another issue when the machine is the load cell needs to be replaced. You need to check the resistance of the load cell to ensure the values are correct m. Message me if you need help with it

Display cable is not an issue as I've tried the brand new display module that has that cable attached...
