Babolat USA after sales service

I would like to share my experience with Babolat USA after sales service.

I own a less than a year old Star 5. So far it has broke down twice. The 1st time was due to my fault. I accidentally inserted the wrong Ampere ceramic fuse and thus burning the transformer. Nate was nice to send me a replacement transformer.

Recently it broke down again. I was stringing half way when the Tension head refused to move. It was stuck in the middle position. The error code was ER 4 on the display panel when the cycle start button was depressed or rather touched. Nate asked me to pull to the tension head to the extreme right and then power up the machine hoping to reset the tension head. But it didn work (display panel showing ER 5). So Nate sent me a replacement PCB board. This new PCB board didn work either. Display panel kept showing "Traction End" when i pressed the cycle button.

I wrote back to Nate and the next thing i know, he SENT me the whole TENSION HEAD. This cost alot to Babolat USA (shipping to Singapore-big wooden crate via UPS + the cost of the tension head)

So my conclusion is BABOLAT USA ROCKS or rather NATE ROCKS!!!

Look no further if you are looking to buy an electronic stringing machine. Just sharing my experience and no hidden agenda.

I completely agree. I had basically everything go wrong with my star 5 that I purchased from him in November...locked up clamps...poly breakage...shipping damage. The result after having everything replaced once was a totally new machine. He also gave me 6 sets of gut with the tension head he sent me that was damaged from shipping and 6 sets of gut when my clamps locked up and he had to ship me a turntable. I talked to him about having so many things replaced and we both thought a totally new machine was the way to go, so that is just what I got.

Babolat and Nate's customer service is great. I completely agree with everything dragon horse has to say. Get a Babolat. End of story.

Wow, those customer service stories are astounding. I would def go for a Babolat if I was in the market. If only they made lower price end home stringing machines.

Every shipped overnight too. Including the 65 pound turntable. The replacement machine was freight though. He did take it out of the box in the warehouse and adjust the clamps, calibrate, and make sure everything was running smooth.

F.Y.I. The new machine had worked with ZERO problems so far. It has been great!

Nate's a real nice guy and very helpful, as is his assistant. Nothing but good things to say about them.

That said, a neos wouldn't have these problems. :)

If the machine was under warranty, I wouldn't expect anything less, especially from a company like Babolat.

I am actually surprised that a Babolat machine is so susceptible to failure.

How long is their warranty?

Anyway i still stand by Babolat Star 5 coz of its performance. As long as it doesn't break down that often and the after sales service is good, i will still continue to recommend friends to get this machine.

Mine is 5 years as i paid USD$200 more.

I feel most top companies will stand by their products. I purchased a Pro Master machine from the old distributor, (Sports Action Machines), although it was new, there was no warranty, and I purchased it off the big auction site.
The new distributor Xtremesportsmachines, that now sells them out of Australia, when I contacted them about getting a pair of new base clamp springs(I did not even need them, as I heard that they wear out over time), and they sent them to me at no cost, not even postage, and I did not even purchase it from them! Thats customer service!
Most reputable companies do what they can for their customers, and they did that for me, and I was not even their customer.Xtremesportsmachines are top notch! And they have great machines.

I cant say I'd go with anything but a babolat considering I got over 450 dollars in Babolat VS and PHT VS hybrid sets.

I bought a 2 y/o Star 5. The first thing I did was take the tensioner to Bab USA and had them check it out. (Bab USA is 15 min away from me)
Everything checked out fine....didn't charge me a dime.
The seller spac'ed on shipping the power cable. They gave me one (I returned it when the seller finally sent it to me)
Nate's the only one left there now. He's a great guy and all the others, Vahn, Vinnie, Ken (retired) were great for the company, too. I'm bummed those guys are gone.
Anyway, Bab USA is a stand up company. I'll never own another machine.

Best of luck to Nate in his future endeavors. I have not personally dealt with him but he seems to be a shining example of what customer service should be.

Yes, I love Nate! Babolat was very lucky to have such an awesome employee. He helped me with my warranty on my APDC. He sent me to the direct production warranty manager. They sent me a new racquet in less than 5 days! Nate was one of the reasons why I brought continued using Babolats (brought 4 more Babolat racquets) after this.

Does anyone know where Nate went to work for now?
