Back issues need insight

    So ive noticed lately that I am getting significant discomfort in my lower back during matches. I know this is due to my being 50 lbs overweight but im wondering how best to remedy this as my overall fitness improves?

    You may want to incorporate all of the following in your path to wellness:

    - continue losing weigth

    - medical evaluation if you back pain is persisting or worsening to make sure there is not a structural problem that needs special consideration

    - performing the back exercises in Pain Free by Pete Egoscue

    - once postural and sequential coordinated movements of muscles have been improved by the Egoscue exercises, moving on to squats and deadlifts to build up back/core strength. It is very appropriate to go very slow here - rapid strength gains are not your goal, rather slow, steady progress without incurring injury.
