Agreed....a lot of poise showed for both.......one in a 5th set tiebreak, and the other having to break to stay in the match. Very good match strategy and patience as well from both Carlos Alcaraz and Leyla Fernandez.Watched both from first ball, both very impressive victories.
Osaka as a former champion was more of a contender than one time slam finalist Stefanos. On the other hand, men’s tennis has a much bigger shortage of teenage contenders, I believe.
she did look a little heavy again, but tough to say with the dress...not being fit was the only reason she didn't break out sooner on tourOsaka looked like she’s been on the couch eating Cheetos for the last 3 months. She lost the match and played terrible. Alcaraz is a beast ripping 90-100 mph winners at will.
exactly this. I felt bad for her during the Serena incident but since then I can't say I'm a fan of hers. And I don't recall ever seeing a player hitting the ball consistently as hard as Alcaraz was hitting today. Seemed like he was going for broke on every shot...and he somehow managed to get them in when it counted. He was in a serious mind/body zone.Osaka looked like she’s been on the couch eating Cheetos for the last 3 months. She lost the match and played terrible.
