Backhand down the line - HELP!

Homey

Rookie
I promise, I looked for help by scouring the previous threads, but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.

I started learning a 2 handed backhand a few months ago. I really like the shot.

However, I can rip shots cross court, but when I try to go down the line I stink.

My 2HBH down the line shot is very weak.
Sometimes I frame it or I spray it wide by a foot or so. I can't drive the ball down the line.

Can someone give me some tips and some instruction on the differences between a cross court 2hbh and a down the line 2hbh.

Thanks!

Give yourself more space to the ball (more to the side of you)
Keep your eyes on contact
Push through with the left arm and try not to open the right shoulder

Don't be in a rush to hit the ball. The later your contact, the more likely the ball will sail towards your backhand side.

Take #3. Hit it later.
Practice by having a net person feed you backhand passing shots. YOU hit some CC's, but work on your DTL's taken later....followthru slightly DTL also.
