Backhand help

Hi, I have an extreme one-handed backhand and i need some advice. I hit some topspin shots just fine and the go a couple of feet over the net and land decently deep. Some shots however i loft and they either go out or sit up for my opponent to hit. Any tips for getting consistency on my backhand?

Are you preparing by grabbing the throat of the racket with your left hand? It may be obvious to you, I don't know, but my backhand improved dramatically when I started doing this. It sort of guides the racket and cuts down on mishits.

Get under the ball and hit more through the ball. I personally dont like the extreme one-hander (ala Kuerten, Navarro-Pastor) in rec players, but if nothing else feels comfortable, then whatever floats your boat.

Thanks for the post Jonny, i used to use an eastern backhand but it wayyy too flat and with almost no spin so i tried an extreme backhand and it felt right.
