BAG REVIEW: Wilson Tour Red Duffle Bag (PICS)

The Wilson Tour Red Duffle is perfect for those of us whose tennis needs are simple but large. It's a great bag for serious recreational players who have come to the realisation that sheer voluminous space - and not finicky compartments - is the most efficient way to structure a tennis bag. If you've ever thought, "Just give us lots of room for stuff and a separate section for rackets" - Wilson answers this demand with this bag.
I'd describe it as a dedicated tennis bag in the form factor of a standard duffle bag. It's a much more versatile bag for travelling with, especially a tennis holiday where carrying onboard a 6/9/12 pack usually involves some grief with airport security. A bag as conventionally-shaped as this one should present no such hassles.

GOOD:
-The main compartment is big enough for everything a tennis player needs plus all the other things along the way - groceries, dirty laundry, college textbooks and a laptop, for example. The space doesn't limit you, unlike a compartmentalized bag.
-Conventional design is very versatile and useable for other non-tennis duties.
-The racket section fits about 3-4 sticks which is ample for weekend warriors. Two outer accessories pockets complete the set up.
-The padded carry handles are spaced comfortably and widely apart for easy threading over the shoulder.
-Dimensions are largely the same as your average tennis bag but in a conventional form factor.

BAD:
-Build quality and materials is merely average and on par for Wilson; a zip-pull had detached from an eyelet on the bag I received but I managed to reattach it.
-There are no additional internal linings so the material you feel on the outside is the same on the inside.
-The shoulder strap could be about an inch wider to better accommodate the load

Wilson fills a niche with this bag but there is room for improvement. I'd like to see the other brands introduce similar tennis bags that are conventionally shaped with a large undivided main section and a dedicated racket compartment. If Babolat and Pacific tried their hand at this type of bag, I'm sure it would eclipse Wilson's current effort.
